was in this society last year found it absolutely s**t to be honest. Its a very amateur society with bad organsation. Puts too much emphasis on orchestra and choir.

    poor poor poor society

Yup if nothing happens soon ill be asking for my 4 quid back, can't see how a society like that could be so bad mean music is a extremely popular pass time and i can think of loads of things that could be organised to get people involved.

Ah right, I see. I e-mailed about drum lessons earlier in the week and haven't heard back.

    So approach the committee.

Tell them you have an idea and you'd like to organise it.

    You're a member as well.
Don't expect someone else to do it.

But they don't even replies to queries relating to things they have already set up! I might as well be talking to a wall at the moment with them!

Since I've seen the Music committee around recently, I'll take this. You mightn't realise it, but all club and society grant applications were to be done by Friday last. Naturally, the entire future of the society might take precedence over replying to one individual member as promptly as they might like. They've been around. This couldn't wait. You can.

So give them a break. They got back to you. Despite your obvious disregard for the amount of work they put into keeping the society afloat, and improving over previous years.

Asking for your €4 back? Man, I won't even begin on how idiotic that is.

You have an idea on how to better run Music? Did you attend the EGM? Committee positions were going, there was your chance. So stop complaining.

Can ya tell I'm not in the mood for people messin with committees right now?!

Jaysus, that's a bit extreme isn't it? When I was on a society committee, no matter how busy I was, I always checked the emails once a day. And I responded straight away too. Societies are nothing without their members.

Maybe give them another couple of weeks and see how things go. They're just starting back in college too. However, I would have no problem asking for membership fee back if a society didn't live up to expectations.

Maybe a bit extreme, yes. But I stand by every word. It's difficult running a society, things easily slip away from you. All I'm saying, cut them some slack.

We all send emails that go ignored from time to time, but to go as far as ask for your €4 back is ludicrous.

Music Soc are organising a lot of things. I just joined, I'm already doing the Open Mic tommorow, starting Drum Lessons with them and going to the Cork Jazz Festival trip they organised.

It took a while for me to get a reply from them via email but they did in the end.

Just wondering, I registered late to the college and signed up for the clubs late, how do I get my card?

If you mean your student ID, head to the registry.

If you mean membership cards for the socs you've joined, then giving out membership cards isnt common practice among most socs, depends on the soc I suppose but I dont know any that has one.

    Yeah it's great alright :P

We get members great deals. A tenner for a day/evening of airsoft including free bb's. Can't go wrong ;)

But if you went to another college you could try and start up an Airsoft club there!

I'd love to have a few more intervarsities

Afraid not mate, we don't do our trips on the weekends. Tuesday nights is Warehouse night normally. Next week we have two, both Tuesday and Thursday for Zombie Week :)

So has anyone gotten anything from filmsoc yet, haven't heard anything from them since joining, no emails or anything, and am wondering if there's something wrong there.

Try emailing them - I'm still getting stuff off them, and I didn't even join this year!

They were having some issues with their mailing list. I think it should be fixed now.

Yeah got the mail now telling me I'm on mailing list, just hope I didn't miss anything good.

I was wondering if they were just being inactive but I got the e-mail just there too. Seems I missed the Dark Knight and I Love You, Man :(. Lame.
