I have a 2005 Vauxhall Combo van and as from yesterday when I take off in 1st gear, it chuggs quite badly but is ok when moving and in all other gears..

Does anyone know what would be wrong with it? I have a notion it might be something like the clutch slip plate (not sure if thats what you call it..)

Could be clutch on the way out, I had similar symptoms from a high spot on the pressure plate.

    Its a 1.3

The clutch itself seems to be fine- theres only 35000miles on the van and mostly motorway miles so it has got little abuse..

Anything else like a warning light on the dash. Might be a dirty air flow meter. The 1.3 is a Fiat engine, it might be an ECU problem. Probably time for a proper diagnostic check.

If you are in Ireland, it's caused by the wrong badge on the front ;)

The Service Light is on- I actually got the light reset about 3 days ago because the van was for a service but it came back on the next day (before this problem ever happened)

I very much doubt its anything to do with the ECU or air flow as it only happens in first gear taking off and also in reverse..
