Should make for an interesting weekends poker in Waterford County anyway; what with the Waterford Masters confirmed for Tramore for the same weekend as this year. Which coincidently clashes with the above game, a sure it shouldn't matter as obv the games will be targeting different clientèle.

We are confident that this game will do 200+ players and of that we only think that a mximum of about 15 players will be from Waterford ,

We have also agreed with Bluff Magazine to be our Media Partner for this event and Dusk Till Dawn will be doing a player exchange for this also . Also we will have the new Casino on stream iin Waterford come January and this will be feeding players to our events .

We will have a good few sponsors and associates for this event Nicky and i hope it works . Choice is always good for players

With regards the Sponsor teh contracts are not finalised for this so i cannot put this in . I will announce the minute i have it agreed .The event moves ahead with or without a sponsor

I dunno Neill maybe ya wouldnt get runners for them. I just thought this was going to be styled on the WSOP and they obv have many more variations outside of nlh/plo. If a lot of players are going to be hanging around all week there is no reason why you couldnt squeeze something else in and make it more of an Irish-style WSOP.

I have Options on the Tuesday and Thursday .Other Events that maybe i could be filled in are

H.O.R.S.E
Ohmaha Hi/lo
7 Card Stud
Razz
No Limit Holdem Shootout
Seniors Nlh


I have plenty of time to add these events if the interest is there in the events and really we dont mind running any of these events along side others as we would just be happy to get them off the ground in the first year .

I just feel the stucture should benifit those on the final table and make sure that poker can still be played especially when its such a big buy in in the current climate . Players have to get Value for Money

Will u be doing packages online ? This looks super neil , Will defo try and qualify for this before the event , If not ill try your 3 sats before the event . I would like a shorthanded event or a 7 card stud just to have something different . This evnt could build over the years so best of luck with it . why do you think you ll only get about 15 from waterford when the game is on in waterford

Well Chris,

I was meant to say 15-20 would directly buy in from Waterford , We may qualify 50 players into the event from Waterford after that but i feel there is only a certain amount of players in Waterford that would directly buy into this, Its just the current climate chris. Saying that we will have the new casino open in Waterford in January and we will be starting sats from Feb and running the league for 10 seats

Hopefully im wrong my friend and its everyone from Waterford and the money stays in the city :D

Hi,

Yes we will be doing sats online and i will announce the details of that later , These will probably start closer to December/Jan and will include accomodation for two people for 4 days . Provisionally Sats will be on Paddy Power Poker , Mermaid Poker and Ladbrokes Poker .Other Online companies cannot commit to sats at this early stage but i am sure we will add more online sats .

We also have to make a desicion about the other side event which we have to decide on and i will judge this on interest and what will work .

We will be giving seats out as part of the Ladbrokes Tour for this and also at our Festivals up until June for the I.S.O.P . We also aim to run our League in teh new casino into this event and this will generate at least 10 seats on our own calculations.
We have already done deals with a few Clubs in Ireland and you will be able to Qualify through these so far .These will prob not be running until June/July Respectively . Here is. a list of clubs and operators that we have already agreed with to run sats into this next year and we will have many more to follow .

directed at me Steven? the reason I wont be there is that I'll be in Tramore at the Waterford Masters that weekend. Would you like to see my schedule of tournaments over they coming year in general to see if it meets your approval !

Well when Big Slick Events announced the game for dungarvan 2 weeks ago suddenly there was another game announced in tramore so the game was moved to Lismore to accomadate players so why should we change our game to suit olympus, if they want to have anyone at their game then they should change dates

Not going to get into a debate about this on the thread , But these are the only dates we could get for 6 days in Waterford in a row in a hotel between june and august in Waterford ,We could not run in June as it was a direct clash with Fintan and Connie in Killarney with the €1250 Poker Stars event and four weeks after this is the Macau event .

Big Slick is in its 5th year of buisiness and we are an events company . All events in Ireland will clash next year and operators try to avoide this but unfortunately we could not get any other dates for this event . The event is Running on these dates if the other events runs on the same dates then so be it .If we can sort that out in the meantime we will .

Only in Poker do you see thread like why are ye running while another event is on , Shops open opposite each other every day Clubs run games against each other every day of the week and as a buisiness we took the desicion to run this event this year and these are the dates secured for it . If the other event goes ahead and im sure it will i wish the lads the best of luck and i hope both events go well .

This January we are opening a Casino in Waterford and we will have a 7 day tournament schedule in place that will be in competition with the Olympus Card room and this is a direct clash as is this festival but as i said Its buisiness.

Lets not get into this lads , Games are going to clash regardless next year everywhere , I am now talking to fox to try and make sure clashes dont happen or if they can be avoided , As i said unfortunately this event is clashing and i cannot change this as i explained earlier

U are entitled to your opinions but your opening post could have just said as i did best of luck with the event unfortuanately ill be in Tramore instead of "LOL" . This in fairness implies that the Waterford Masters last year took the date that you had previously run the Waterford open, which isn't the case. You ran the Waterford Open Twice 2007, 2008. ( it was run in 2006 by another operator on a smaller scale ). It was never run in July and no-one took your dates as you've suggested here and stated on another forum.

I have to say nicky that the event in Waterford will affect numbers in Tramore now i might be wrong but people are already talking about the event in poker , If you take into consideration most big players and urself included would like to play the event in the Tower .From what is being said by most of the lads that played in the masters is that the venue in Tramore was very bad out there and that it would make them think twice about playing out there again.I dont know what the Tower hotel is like but it seems that it looks good. It would probably be a safer option for both operators to try and compromise and benifit each other but but it all looks very silly from the outside. I respect you as a player and i think you are probably in the top ten in Ireland but if i was a pro like yourself i would be choosing a €1000 event in your backyard over a €400 game .

I think its disgustingly low form to be running your event on the same weekend. As you so politely pointed out I'm entitled to my opinion, so there it is. You were mouthing to anyone who would listen to you in Tramore at the Masters this year that you were booking the hotel immediately the next day to put the Waterford Open next year on this date so you'll excuse me if I dont buy your bullsh1t about clashes being unavoidable

Actually your correct Nicky , We ran in May and June but i could get the dates and June is no no with the Poker Stars Gig and May is Jps . Its a clash and if it can be avoided i will talk to the revelvant parties including yourself . No dates will be released for August in the Tower hotel or the Woodlands for the event with weddings being a priority . Anyhow i still think its two different events with two differnt types of players . I think you are respected and will get a following and we also will . The same debate is going to happen with the two clubs take each on also in Jan .

you should get your facts right nugget..that was the olympus end of month game.. the venue was the only change to accomadate extra customers

As i said Nicky if all parties can reach an agreement well and good if not its a buisiness desicion and we move on . Do i change the Casino schedule because it clashes next year with the other club?I would rather both parties being involved and i have stated this clearly .

Anyhow you have made your points clear here and i have made mine and i have no problem with yours what so ever .
