is it possible to set up a magic eye system with ntl digital.I have a cable going into the wall behind the tv which connects with 3 other tvs in the house, so that we can watch the regular channels (1-18) in all rooms.however the new ntl box set up plugs directly into the av of the tv, so we can only watch on 1 tv.what id like to do is have all the regular channels in all rooms + an extra channel in every room to recieve the digital box (the same programme would be on in each room).I thought that there might be something that could plug into the digibox and transmit the signal around the house, but I just got back from maplin and the guy told me that it could not be done.
All help would be very much appreciated - im allready starting to regretnot going for sky/

This can indeed be done but is expensive to setup and a bit of experience is required to set it all up properly.

You will need the following kit.

1 Uhf Modulator such as the one you see here
    http://www.beststuff.co.uk/mercury_ils102_rf_modulator.htm

Or alternatively a vcr can be used...simply connect the Ntl Box to the Video via scart and select the Av channel on it.

    2. Tv link plus or similar unit
    http://www.tvlink.co.uk/tvlinkplus.htm

    3.A digital compatible bi-directional amplifier

    4. Magic eye

    Thanks steveon,
looks a bit complicated and im not sure how all that stuff works.i was thinking of using one of these http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/5347926.htm with a av splitter to split the signal coming out of the didibox. i think that would send the signal around the house.but im not fully sure that it would work, as i dont know anyone with the same set up.i wasc hopin someone on here would have a similar set up, and could spread some light on the situation

I personally find wireless Av sender a bit hit and miss, they work for some people no problem at all but there are subceptable to interence and often mean moving them around to get a clear picture... There are more expensive models available to the one you are showing but again I have never found them much better....so its really a situation where you have to try it out for yourself...

I have sky but this also applies to NTL. I have the house wired with the signal going around no problem. To control the box from other rooms I use one of these gadgets.hmm cant get a direct link.

    Go to

    http://www.marmitek.com/

and find "Infrared extenders: Control Anywhere"

I got one of these powermids and a remote years ago in Peats for about 80 euro. You simply put the powermid somewhere near the devices you wish to control. The remote does not operate on line of sight. It sends a wireles ssignal to the powermid from anywhere in the house and it controls your devices.

Dead handy yoke and I would be gutted if it ever broke. Been using it now for about 6 years with no problems. It controls my sky box, dvd player and media player currently so I can watch them in any room
