PS3 Slim Deals in Cork City

Ok I got up early this morning to go into Cork to buy the slim.

Here are the deals:
Game: PS3 Slim plus one of these games for €299 - Games are: COD4, Little Big Planet, Tiger Woods 10, Fifa 10, 2 other sports games.
HMV: PS3 Slim plus any of 2 of these 3 games for €299 - Fry Cry 2, Assassin's Creed, Quantum of Solace.
HMV: PS3 Slim plus Arkham Asylum : €309
Gamestop: PS3 Slim plus any preowned game: €299
Smyth's: Not open till 10. Screw em.

Very nearly went for the Arkham Asylum deal in HMV for 309 which is excellent. However I wasn't too gone on the demo so went over to Gamestop instead. Picked up the PS3 with a mint copy of Infamous: special edition(worth €55).
The other HMV deal is good too with 2 free games. However I have FC2 and AC on 360 already.

Looking into getting on in HMV Dublin.
The Slim and 2 games from the 2 for 40 offer seems good.
Games include Dark Sector, Saints Row 2, Burnout Paradise, Bad Company, Shaun White Snowboarding and a few more.

Not sure which games are good though.

I think I might get the pre-owned offer in Gamestop, that's only if someone had traded Batman in lol. If not Il go to Hmv.

Ah wi-fi installed, so handy.

It's updating to 3.0 right now but I thought 3.0 came as standard with the slim?

By the way, what's the deal with this Bravia sync? I have a Bravia so wondering what's the story with it.

and jaytee we had to install 3.0 too despite being told itwas already on it...

also word of warning for anyone with Buzz tv quiz that needs to update for an hour before you play it!

Is Gamestop the only place that does a trade in for the PS3 'fat'?
if not how much do other stores offer against it.

Turn on HDMI control on the PS3 (it's in one of them menu's somewhere) and on your TV in the setup\hdmi menu tell it to search for hdmi devices. My tv for some reason picked up the PS3 without having to do this. Anyway, once the TV picks up the PS3, you can use the TV's remote to 1. turn off the tv,ps3, and any other sony devices (e.g. amp) with a simple click of the remotes off button. 2. navigate the sony xmb menu's with the tv remotes dpad. 3. control dvd/bd playback/pause/fw/rw etc with the tv's remote (bravia remotes have a section on top with these buttons - they are marked bravia synch).

All in all this is a great feature, as it means no need to use the crappy gamepad when watching stuff or invest in a Sony Bluetooth remote.

I dont think they will deliver that to ireland dude, but, nice find if ya knew anyone in usa or Canada

I had a look and they were laughably bad.
I can't even remember exactly what they were offering but something like the slim + killzone 2 + a choice of some games including tiger woods 2010 .... for 359 / 365 .... i think!

went to two gamestops today and they said the ps3 slim + a preowned game for €299 deal was over and the offer they had now was a ps3 slim + any new game for €330
