    Hi Players,

Here is our planned schedule for 2010 for your perusal. We still have more to add and will announce these in the coming weeks. Next year we expect to payout over €1,000,000 in prize pools. Please note that all structures and Guarantees are subject to change in the coming weeks when we confirm all Event details and dates. We will announce official threads for the structure of each event closer to the dates. We are announcing dates now to keep our poker playing public well informed, so you can plan for 2010.

Next year we are delighted to announce 4 Provincial Tournaments. Here we will have the four provinces battling it out to define the individual poker champion of each province. This is something that we have been planning for some time now and we are delighted to have involved some of the best poker Operators with us.

We have two new Events next year the Irish Series Of Poker 2010 which replaces our Waterford Open Festival which we held each summer. This hits Waterford in July with a Main Event buy in of €1,000. We expect this to be a 250 capacity sell out with the Sponsor to be announced shortly. We have already negotiated 100 online seats and we would expect to fill this event with offline sats and direct buy ins creating a prize pool of €250,000. The Sponsor and full details will be announced at the launch in January. We are also delighted to introduce the Poker Club/Pub Championship for 2010, with an expected prize pool of €100,000 and 500 players in the grand final.

Also the very successful Ladbrokes Irish Poker Tour will run for the 2nd time in 2010 and will travel the country covering the majority of cities and towns, details of this tour will be announced in the coming weeks.

For more details on any of our events please go to www.bigslickevents.net . Also if you would like to register for any of our events please go to www.bigslickevents.net/registration/

We hope to see you at one if not all of our events for 2010 All the Event Structures will be up on boards soon and on our own Website at www.bigslickevents.net .

Wow with all these events plus all the usual events that do be on around the country, I can really see numbers being badly affected in many events next year

I think its great for poker, fair play Neill... This will give players a lot of options and will bring a lot of new players into the game too hopefully.

To be honest pat only the better ones will survive . With all of these having Guarantees of over €1,000,000 Combined i hope your wrong for our sake lol:D

I still think there is enough players in ireland for teh small events but after this you need to look outside the box and bring in new faces from europe and beyond to show them that Ireland leads the way in Value for Money and Structures

    Regards

Well done Neil, all events looks good covering the whole country plus good idea to tie up with casino/poker rooms/tours in each area, which is smart for building numbers.

ISOP looks excellant idea which hopefully will grow over the years.

Any possiblity of tie up a deal with any of the online site to run sats online for all events?

    This is so true.

I wish you all the best for 2010. Having worked with you recently at the midlands open and for the Radio show extra i am convinced your events will be a sucess. You certainly offer value for money.

    Good luck

totally agree about the value issue. A lot of players have stop travelling to Ireland in the last 2 years, this is mainly due to the high costs of transport here and been rip off by the hotel industry. It really sickens me to see them on given out about the government every so often when they failed to keep the customers during the good times with fair prices and good services. Its nearly impossible to get a decent residents bar in most hotels in this country.

So my 2 cent would be do always arrange packages to these events, do big deals with the hotels, even give a lot of business to the same hotels, but they have to up there offering and give the players the service they want and expect. There is loads of competion now in Europe with the Italian tours and Russian tours and GUKPT etc.

Also some of those dates will be effect with the WSOP, specially you main 1k buy-in.

    Totally agree

The above 10 events on top of what is already out there with half the country broke I just don't see it happening.

We've already seen it at the smaller buy-in level of 100-200 with Bruce Poker, Celtic Poker Tour, Big Slicks tour and all the other games at this buy-in range. Numbers are down everywhere due so many events and players spread wide and far.

Games already for 2010 before these.

    Jan
Poker Events Ohama Championship of Ireland 1000 Buy-in
    Lakes of Killaraney, 550 Buy-in

    Feb
Green Joker Poker European Deepstack, 1650 Buy-in

    Apr
Paddy Power Irish Open, 3500 Buy-in

    May
Poker Ireland, Summer Festival, Buy-in 350
    JP Poker Masters, 750 Buy-in

    June
Green Joker Poker European Shorthanded, 1100 Buy In
    Powerstars Irish Tour, Buy-in 1250

    July
Bruce Poker Waterford Masters, Buy In 440
Poker Room Celbridge WSOP, Buy in 200

    Aug
Macua Irish Poker Championship, 1100 Buy-in
    TeamCop, Buy 250
    Sporting E Summer Festival

    Sept
    Pokerstars Irish Tour, 1500 Buy-in
Winston Poker Heads Up Championship, Buy 550
Hiberian Monaghan Poker Open, Buy-In 250/350

    Oct
    Poker Ireland IPO, Buy 250
Paddy Power Winter Festival, Buy-in 1650

    Nov
JP Poker Mini WSOP, Buy-in 350
Fitzwilliam Winter Festival, Buy -In 550
    Macua Winter Festival, Buy-in 1100
    Sporting E Winter Festival, Buy-in 550

    Dec
Pokerstarts Irish Tour IPC, Buyin 2000
Hiberian Cavan Poker Open, Buy-in 250/350

Something has to give. There's no way all of these events will get numbers (and I'm sure I'm missing a load of other events).

I can see some big overlays which will be great for us the players. The games without gaurantees could be non runner events:confused:

Just off the top of my head I now Poker Ireland game in May, Green Jokers game in June (and they had 100k guaranteed) and poker events/Jp Poker team cop in August all got very bad numbers.

    .

The Thing is they are happening and its all to do with sat and online companies with Packages and this will bring alot into events.

The market is busy but as i said the best events and the best Poker Operators will survive this year . Some will lose out but Big Slick are running 5 years now and have yet to miss one guarantee

    Regards

How likely are the events to take place, we have see this before http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055122249&highlight=blondepoker.
last time you scheduled this event you had a sponsor and everything and it never went through, this time , its sponsor pending guarantee pending, wouldnt you be better off waiting until such things were confirmed instead of takeing up dates where ppl could plan events that will take place?

All so if this tourney goes ahead, what will the reg be? Will it be what appears to be your recent norm of 20% or will you have something more inline with the industry norm for such events of 6/10%?

All events are confirmed and Dates are Finalised . The Reg fee on the €1000 Game will be €100 . The Guarantee has to be agreed by the Sponsor but the event is now booked in and ready to roll. The reason that event was pulled before was due to the fact that we left Blonde and they could not guarantee bums on seats . We now have everything in place for 100 Seats taken by 2 Online companies but this will only be announced at the launch . These events take time to build .

The reason you see reg fees as you say 20% is that on a €250 Game such as the Midlands Open it was a 2 day event with dinner provided. I said it on Irish poker radio and i will say it again the reg fees are stated and if players do not agree with them then the answer has to be dont play.

We try to give players value for money for the reg fee and not one tournament we have run has ever covered the cost of the event , Its only the side action that allows a profit margin.

I know you had a rant about poker events in your blog recently and we discussed this on Irish Poker radio recently . Reg fees also cover the insurance to Flowers on Roundabouts in Killarney John :D:D

If you think that we dont give value for money then i have no problem having a debate on it but Online events are not industry norm with regards Live events . Have you ever played an event of ours that you did not get value for money. We try to provide Food to all our players at our events and this is costly . You take it The Midlands Open was €220+€30 . The €30 Reg had to cover Dealers wages for two days and dinner at €10 Per head .

Hopefully i have made some decent comments John

    Regards
