Would you like to post a contribution to a list I'm compiling on 202 things to do in Waterford.?

I can already think of 101 thing to do in case you ask..

Things like having a Blaa with your breakfast, or Driving up to the Comeragh Mountains, not just to see the 9 lakes, but to stop your car on a hill, turn off the engine, let go your handbrake - and watch your car roll back UP THE HILL!!

No.1 for me is a Plunge off the rocks at the Guillamines in Tramore. Breathtaking!!

A blaa is a doughy, white bread bun (roll) speciality which, according to a writer in the Irish Times[1] is particular to Waterford City and County, Ireland

Said to have been introduced to the city at the end of the 17th century by the Huguenots, the word is thought to have been derived from the French word for white, blanc. This theory is disputed because white flour did not exist in the 17th century. Another possibility is a derivation from the French word blé, which is used for certain types of flour, or the Latin root "blandus" which gives the English word "bland" and the Spanish word for soft.

    What innovation.

I'm sure they are. Having a nickname for something isn't the same as creating it though, lol.

Go to Dunmore, walk on the storm wall, and bring some bread or blaas for the seagulls.

I can shorten this to "2 things to do in Waterford"...

    1. Realise you are in Waterford
    2. Go somewhere else

OP. Everyone in this thread is up past 2 in the morning posting on an internet forum.

You should just be glad that most of the responses have been failed attempts at humour, I'd hate to see their ideas of what a fun day encompasses
