Paddy Power Account

    Hello all!
I recently opened a Paddy Power account (just to do the lotto lucky numbers and an odd tip for a nag) I used my mastercard to deposit money into the account. I presumed that if I had a few nice wins I could get the money credited back to my card but on the site it says they will only credit you with a cheque????

Any one know whats the story with that???

PS I'm a bit green to all this betting and on-line betting............ thats why I am here to learn from the masters:D

    Bit strange alright.
I have had a Powers account for a few years now but always use my Laser card for deposits, and, very rarely, withdrawals.
Never tried it with a credit card so dont know what the deal is there.
I know you can withdraw to a credit card on Betfair, so you might want to contact them directly about that.

I'm nearly certain this has something to do with Mastercard - they don't allow betting funds to be credited back to a card, or something like that.

Ya, mastercard won't let you get money put back onto it. Visa does, but not mastercard. You'll have to get it by cheque or some other method I'm afraid.

it's quite unlikely you'll need to withdraw money from this account, probably ever.
I set up my account about three years ago with the same intentions and if i was to make up all the money i "invested" , i'd be reaching for a long rope right now:o

Just don't go applying for mortgages or Loans because Mister AIB or BOI won't like the words PPOnline, Betfair and Boyle appearing on the bank statement too often. I set up a bank account which I only use for depositing and withdrawing to the Bookie sites and Betfair. I keep these transactions well away from the current account. Makes me feel less dirty:pac:;)

You can go into shops and collect your cash with just your username and password either.

Can you really collect your on-line winnings in Paddypower shops ?

    Thanks for all the Replys!!
Looks like I gonna change it over to the laser...... less hassle.
I never thought about the PPonline appearing on the statements and them to look through it at loan application time:o

Laser = immediate withdrawal from account
CC = up to 4 weeks credit.

    too right
i went into the bank few of months ago with a dd problem and the woman pointed it out to me advising me to close my online account.
She said it would effect a mortgage claim or any loan i might apply for

Ladcrooks and Boyles allow you to deposit and withdraw in shops but I'm almost certain that PP don't have that facility

No, conviently enough, they will allow you to deposit as you say but no withdrawls.
