Alright lads im new to the ps3 as i just got a ps3 slim.Gamestop ftw :)

I just have a few problems and thought of the service

I also have an xbox 360 and still love it for online games, and like anything both services have pros and cons.r

Anyway i have a few problems and was wondering can anyone help

First of all i was wondering does anyone know where i can get a cheap official dualshock pad online or retail because 60 bones seems a bit much for one control

Does anyone know how to play your own music while playing a game because all i can do is play it in the dashboard and if i exit out of it,it stops playing.

I love buying arcade games and iv already spotted a good few titles that i might like..I dont like the fact that some of them dont offer demos but can anyone help me in my decision

    pain 7.99
    pixel junk eden 7.99
    calling all cars 7.99
    flower 7.99
    super stardust hd 7.99
    pixel junk monsters 4.99
    battle tanks 9.99
    crash commando 4.99
    shatter 5.99
    fat princess 14.99

Finally can anyone point me in the right direction to get a psn network card to buy games.I know i can add my credit card but like the xbox im hoping i can buy these cards at a reduced amount compared to paying the full price for every game..eg on live codes you can get 2100ms points for like 15e,while it should cost like 25e

Cheap Dual Shock here and will only take a few days maybe less to receive:

There are only some games out at the moment that allow you to play music on, example PAIN, Burnout and Wipeout HD....

I have all them games apart from Battle Tanks (near bought it last night) I have to recommend you buy Shatter, one of the best PSN games and also Crash Commando and the Combo Pack it is a wonderful game and online is pretty good aswell, well worth the 4.99...Also Fat Princess is a good game now, soccer is so much fun but for some reason I can not play now...I would say they are the best 3 to get with replay value...The rest of them I have barely played...

No network cards out for Europe at the moment but they are coming this month in supplements of 20 and 50 euro...There is a website however where you can get US PSN cards but it is a rip off...Here it is anyways:

    www.gamespointsnow.com

Ordered MS Points on there and you will get the details within a few minutes...Hope this helps you decide..

Create a new user on your PS3 and create a new account to log onto psn but select USA for your country, that way you can access the US psn store, and there are demo's for some of those games you mentioned. Try'nBuy :)

You can download content (PSN games) to YOUR PS3 an infinite number of times.
You can have a maximum of 5 active PSN accounts from which to download PSN games.

Does this mean in theory, you and a friend could say have an account each and split the cost of the games by downloading them on both consoles..mind you its all hypothetical.

Yeah you can do that its called "game sharing"

Hypothetically this would be true as long as both friends have the same account on both PS3 and don't delete the account after hypothecially sharing the cost of PSN games.
This user account would best to be a 2nd account only used to buy & download PSN games as content can be used by any account on the user PS3.

So lets say my main account is fol20 and the dl account is fol20dl.Does this mean a friend would only have to have fol20dl to play the games?

you mean the one account active on 5 machines. something which i was just confronted with today. funny how it works, the account holder yet i lost my slot - was pushed back to 6th in line being the original a/c creator. when a new machine accesses your account it also 'activates' one of the 5 slots - had to call a friend and walk him through how to 'deactivate' my a/c on his PS3.

now i am changing my password fast - stepping up security don't wanna be locked out forever.

-yes indeed the less wise man learns from his own mistakes.. advice? only give the other 4 slots to close friends. or just make sure the password is safe w/ whoever. better still, put it in yourself and save it

They need to have an account created on their PS3 that is associated with the PSN account/username of fol20dl.

Thats what I meant but for some reason I didn't write it down like that.

no probs haha - sure i end up editing nearly everythin i post :o even then it breaks down as nonsense

    fol man look:

your online a/c details - which he'll be requiring - are its email and its password.

create new user > sign up for PS network > use existing account > your account's email and password.

no more than 4 others. don't give it to anyone who could possibly share it

Exactly, but they do not need to be logged in as the fol20dl account to play the games...

I don't think so, that WarZoneBrother's DualShock 3 Controller for €52 from GamesNash is cheap... If you want a brand new DualShock 3 controller for €35 delivered, try to get one from here (£31.86):

    https://www.coolshop.co.uk/catalog/product/54398-sony-dualshock-3-controller-black--for-ps3

I used the shop before and they are trustworthy. They have a rapid delivery (got a game from then in 3 days). They even have live chat, if you have any questions. And they don't charge for delivery to Ireland! It used to be SoftUk before. Exchange rate is quite good now (£ -> €).

PSN cards will be available very soon. I would recommend you to create UK account as well. I am not sure, but this card might work on EU store accounts as well:

    http://www.shopto.net/PS3/GAMES/PS320INSTANT-PlayStation%20Network%20Card%2020%20Instant%20Code.html

£20 PSN Card is £17.85 (saving 10%). PSN cards are going to be available from 18/09/2009. It is worth be wait 2 weeks in my opinion... Anyway, I think there will be soon some EU PSN cards as well for sale.

I was wondering are you able to change your account from ireland to uk after you have created it..secondly i want to buy a few games today..i have 2 accounts..one for playing and the other for dling...if i buy a game how do i associate it with my other account?or do i only have to have my dl account on the ps3 for it to work

Finally what does it mean to activate the system?

Just create a new user account on your PS3 called Fol20UK or something and set up a separate PSN logon for it.

So long as your DL account stays on your PS3 [don't delete your DL account], you can play any games, videos, anything you buy on any other account.
    Fol20 wrote: »

If you are refering to activating a PSN account on a PS3, all it means is connecting to the PSN account on a different PS3. If you have a friend who you want to share games with [or the other way round], then give them your DL PSN account details, let them create a new user account on the PS3 and sign into the PSN using your details. That takes one of your five slots then.

Shatter is one-player, I'm not sure how long it'll take you to finish as it'll depend on your skill level - probably between 2 and 4 hours to beat story mode, possibly longer as some of the stages are a bit tricky. There's also a 'Boss Rush' mode that's really good so that adds to the length of the game as well. It's a brick-breaker type game, like Arkanoid, except more complex, in HD, and with a cracking soundtrack. It's well worth the e7, I would have paid e10 easy. Check out a few videos on YouTube to see if you like the look of it.
