Pfizer and that fine

    Pfizer have just been fined a couple of billion: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/8234533.stm

    Question: historically, when events like this happen, is there panic selling which overly depresses share prices? As in, would tomorrow be a good time to buy Pfizer shares?

    Just my opinion on PFE it has been trending down since the begining of 07, The hugh deal to buy out wyeth didnt seem to do much for its share price,
    Is this an investment or a short term trade, If its an investment I think there is better pharma companies out there,
    This is just my 2 cents worth

    what you must realise is that these things are rarely one-off binary events, the court case has been known about for years, the company already took charges of 2.3bln a few quarters ago in advance of the final settlement.

    the fact the stock barely moved yesterday vs the market should tell you all you need to know about whether this is a catalyst to invest on
