Was wondering about good broadband for a ps3 user thats in student accomodation. The place I'm living in provides it's own broadband (wired not wireless) and I presume that it wont be great for PS3 online.

What are the best broadband providers that are(preferably) the cheapest. Im looking for about 15-30 a month on broadband. Speed isn't important, just looking for something that's adequate for online play.

I would grab a wire first and hook it up to your PS3 to see what speed you can get.

I've not moved in yet but I heard from a mate that he had to get broadband in himself to get his 360 online. I'm guessing the ports wont be able to be opened for PS3 play, but i'l try.

If this dosent work, what would you say is best on a budget?

    Just saw this

UTV Quicksilver (also applys to ROI)

£12.71 per month for the first 3 months then £19.56

    Speed Up to 8Mbps2
    20GB download / upload capacity

1 FIXED IP ADDRESS If required fixed IP addresses can be purchased at a cost of £2.50 each

Is this good? Is UTV good for ps3 broadband? Anyone on here on it?

Of course not. Line Rental is up somewhere around €28 a month.

Why does it say at the bottom it's £3 extra to not have a landline package?

I have no idea where you are seeing that.

The 3 month promotional price is only available to new, first time sign-ups only. A €3.00 discount for UTV Talk has been included across all prices. UTV Talk includes free evening and weekend calls to standard landlines in RoI and UK. Eircom Line required. Clicksilver Broadband is subject to a line test. Minimum computer specification applies.

    try an ethernet cable first.
I'm wired and it seems to do the trick. 3.5mb

But generally the provier wouldnt be the problem, more so the router;)
