Getting out of contract ?

    Hi all,
My parents live down the country (in Westmeath) and my Dad changed to Meteor a few months ago.
The coverage is terrible and he was putting up with it, but he's finally fed up with it and is wondering if it's possible to get out of the contract.
Basically - he needs to go outside and walk around the house to try and find a signal that does not keep dropping or that is usable.
Does this mean that Meteor are not fulfilling their side of the contract to provide a mobile phone service ?
Just wondering what his options are ?
He asked about this in carphone warehouse (where he signed up) and they told him he could not break the contract...
Any ideas / help would be appreciated !!

If he reports it to Meteor what usually happens is they'll get their tech guys to investigate the site and if its a known blackspot or bad area they'll let him out, indoor coverage isnt ever really gauranteed though so they may not be so willing to do it straight away, does anyone else have the same issue on the same network there?

Has he contacted Meteor to report the problem? If not then no he cannot just break the problem. He needs to contact them and give them the chance to rectify the issue. He will probably have to make a few calls complaining in order to get out of the contract without paying any penality. Do not get him to just stop paying. If he is not getting the service they should not charge but this will mean they will have a look at his usage.
