Car hire - Increased prices?

Hello I'm just wondering has there been an increase in prices for Car hire in Europe of late?? I've checked Ryanair/hertz , Hertz by themselves & Europe car & Avis and there seems to be about a 40-50 euro price increase in the last 6 months? Is anyone else seeing this? I'm just wondering has there been an increase in prices for Car hire in Europe of late??

Is there any reason for this price rise other than profitability?

There have been a few threads already about this. Its all to do with companies reducing their fleets and banks not lending to them to buy more cars.

Do a quick search for more comments.
