hypermobile lip surgery

Anyone know if this is available in any practice here? Can't seem to find any info on the long term lasting effects. For a gummy smile, might it be a reasonable alternative to a gingivectomy & 6 restorations? I have to get 2 restorations anyway but having to get 6 now and eventually replace 6 after 10-15 years is going to work out fairly pricey.

    Thanks

Dufie, I cannot comment on this as I have never seen it done. However I have seen the botox done for excessive gingival display but though it looked drastic. Maybe somebody else here knows about this.

Crown lengthening and 6 restorations sound reasonable to me, although I usually try to veneer the premolars also to stop the smile looking narrow.

I have seen this only on another dentistry forum. It looked impressive and the person performing the surgery said that it is fairly straightforward. Can I suggest a maxillofacial surgeon for a consultation on this. You may seek a referral from your dentist.

i think it is called a vy closure.

if your teeth are short due to tooth wear or other reasons, a gingivectomy/crown lengthening procedure plus crowns/veneer would be best.

if you have a upper jaw that has grown excessively vertically than jaw surgery with braces would be best.

if you have lip mobility problems than botox/vy closure etc maybe appropriate

there are other possibilities as well
