100%? You'll destroy your skin. Anything over 50% is pretty much the same. Doesn't make a difference. Anyways most mosquitoes are tolerant of Deet sprays these days. So if you are someone who attracts them i'm afraid there isn't really much you can do other than cover up. If you sweat much putting spray on you is also useless as it rolls off you and mosquitoes are attracted to sweat. They also tend to go for pale skin.

I thought Brazil and Argentina was grand for Mosquitoes. I don't get bit by them (supposedly because i've been taking garlic and vitamin B1 pills since a kid & have dark skin) but i don't really remember seeing much. So maybe try taking them. Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia should have less because of the altitudes. But if you go anywhere near the amazon basin you'll be ate alive. Sand flies are a bítch. I found that mixing baby oil, citronella and dettol and then applying it keeps them away. I only used it for one week in Iquitos and didn't get one bite. You can add zinc to it as well so i was told. It's a fisherman trick. That formula and deer píss aparently.

sandflies are deterred by tea tree oil.

I was in Singapore Zoo the other day and got destroyed. Little bastards. Time for some grade a deet me thinks. 80% Australian bushmans.
