I like my hip-hop and would like to get some album recommendations from you guys.

    Some stuff I like:

Cannibal Ox - The Cold Vein (still my favourite at the moment)
    Madvillain - Madvillainy
Biggie - Ready to Die (obviously)
Souls of Mischief - 93 til infinity (worst album title ever)

Also Tupac,El-P,Wu-tang, Murs, Beasties, Ghostface Killahs...

Don't know if there is a pattern in the above but I'm always searching for the next "classic".

I'd recommend A tribe called quest, Jurassic 5, De LA soul, Lynn. Not the current wave of bling merchants, more soul, more conscientious, and a **** load more groovy. Nothing worse than listening to those money grabbers blowing their own trumpets. :pac:

    Ok huge lists there!

Maybe someone could narrow these down to 2 or 3 from the list? I know some of those albums too..

Mobb Deep - The Infamous and AZ - Doe or Die are two I'd recommend as they fit in quite well with what you've mentioned. I'd also recommend Sean Price - Monkey Barz and Jesus Price Supastar.

They all have that slightly grimey New York sound to them, not too far from the whole 36 Chambers, Cold Vein style. If you like Sean Price then check out Heltah Skeltah, Smif-N-Wessun and any other Boot Camp Clik stuff.

If your into cannibal ox check out Company Flow-Funcrusher plus

If your into madvillainy because of the beats check out Quasimoto - The unseen

If you like it for the lyrics check out MF DOOM - Mm food/Operation Doomsday

Check out kool g rap & dj polo - Live and let die, similar enough to ''ready to die'' but a bit more hardcore.

For the early Wu Tang grimey sound i'd recommend Black Moon - Enta The Stage.

I'd also recommend Edan - Beauty and the beat which is probably the most unique hip hop album ive ever heard
