Let me give you my story of this place.

Order 1 - ordered golf shoes that were in stock on their website. A week later I emailed them to find out why my order hasn't been processed. Emailed received 24 hours later to say they were out of stock. I quickly responded asking them when they expect to have stock. Emailed received 24 hours later to say they mightn't have stock for weeks if at all. I quickly responded to say cancel my order. 24 hours later my order was cancelled.

Order 2 - ordered galvin green top that was in stock on their website. Repeat of above but I waited to see how long it would take to get what was in stock. It took 6 weeks!!!

Order 3 - last Tuesday I ordered a putter which was in stock on their website. When I ordered it says it would be dispatched the following day....nothing dispatched on Wednesday so I emailed on Wednesday around 3pm. No response so I emailed on Thursday morning again saying if it was not dispatched today (Thursday) that I want the order cancelled. So today I receive an email from them to say my order was cancelled. No explaination as to why if the item was in stock that it wasn't dispatched on the Wednesday.

Shocking customer service, no matter when you email them it takes 24 hours to respond. Most places if you email them at a reasonable time, they respond to you on the day. They appear to not care!! Mind you, I shoulda learned after the 2nd order.

Had a similar experience in September. Ordered a powakaddy sport from the site which said they were in stock. No sign off it a week later so emailed them and got a reply to say they were waiting on the battery from powakaddy, would take a week. Same reply with a follow up mail a week later.

I then requested they send it out with a 36 hole battery as a mark of goodwill. Got a crap reply to say they'd send a free gift with the trolley.

Week 4 - same response to follow up order.I checked their site which said they had all sizes of powakaddy battery in stock.

Another email asking them to explain. Replied to say they'd look into it and come back to me. No reply after that so cancelled the order and bought a motocaddy from golf style in Galway.

Their customer service is appalling. Got a reply to an email send on a Sunday night saying it wouldn't be replied to. They only reply to emails sent between 9am and 8pm during business hours.

Guess I won't be ordering from golf store Europe again!

Golf Store Europe ran an offer of 4 sets of Provs for £99 which was a great deal. It took around two weeks to get them sent out.

In my view, they generally are very good value but you just have to assume that their items are out of stock and only order if you are happy to wait at least a couple of weeks.

Golfstoreeurope can be pretty useless alright.

I've bought 4 items off them in the past.

    1. Burner rescue club. Item arrived in like 2 days. Perfect transaction.

    2. Mizuno Lob Wedge. Item said it was in stock. I bought it. After 2-3 days i started waiting anxiously everyday for the post man but nothing. About a week later of waiting every day i got an e-mail to say it wasnt in stock and wouldnt be in stock for like 6 weeks. Why couldnt i have been told that the next day. What took them over a week to tell me ? Could have saved me waiting for the postman every day

    3. Nike Golf Shoes. Item said it was in stock. I bought it. Took a week for the delivery to come which was ridiculously slow but still, at least i got he item

    4. The other day, Titlesist 910 Driver. Again, the item said it was in stock. I bought it. (At the checkout it said one one price. I bought it and my invoice said that price but on my credit card i was charged €5 more but thats another story) Waited patiently for the postman. Every day it didnt come i thought surely it will be here tomorrow. Another day would pass and still no club. A week later i get an e-mail saying its not in stock and wont be in stock for another month.

Why does it say in stock on the web-site when its clearly not ? And why dont they notifiy you of this immediately. Why does it take a week of you waiting for the postman and only after that they bother to tell you ?

Their prices are generally good, especially when they regularly have the 10% off weekends etc... but check around. I've often seen items cheaper in American Golf or in the local pro shop.

The Titleist driver was the last straw for me though. Its bad enough waiting for items you buy on-line but waiting for nothing is just ridiculous. Items shouldnt be marked "In Stock" if they are not and if there is a mistake you should be notified immediately. It shouldnt take a week to tell you.

They just tease you making you wait for the postman everyday

I dont think ill bother using them again. Too much hassle.

    I forgot about this thread.

Just an update to this post. The Titleist 910 Driver i ordered that time that never arrived..... My invoice said one price, but the price i was charged on my credit card was €5 more. When i cancelled the order (after they told me id have to wait at least a month more) they credited my card for the invoice amount, not the amount i was actually charged so basically it cost me €5 to order from them, wait a week for nothing to arrive and then cancel the order.

I couldn't be bothered going back to try get my €5 back. I just know it would be way too much hassle. I'll just take it as lesson learned.

I've ordered stuff from here and received it straight away I also had to wait 6 weeks for Galvin green stuff
So it's probably a case that there's little or no stock held and your order is then sourced by them leading to the delays
    The customer service is shocking
The email replies are picked from the cloud when you do get one at least 24 hrs later
So if in a hurry it would be advise able to ring before ordering or go elsewhere and take your chance

Or do what I generally do ask my pro shop to match GSE and he generally comes close enough ... I rather support him and it makes returns painless as I found out this year

I'm going to contradict a lot of what is said above! I ordered a pair of shoes Thursday evening at 7.30pm and they just arrived 5 minutes ago.

Something similar here, I ordered my pair of Kikkor Tennys (can't wait to try them seem very comfy!) on Tuesday and they were delivered this morning. Just luck I guess whether they have them in stock or not.

Yeah no worries mate, will do. A bit worried myself, all the reviews are good but are American so will have to see how the stand up to an Irish winter, rainy day.

Anyone have any recent experience with Golf Store Europe? I made the mistake of buying a putter 2 weeks ago which was listed as "In stock". Heard nothing after 3 days so I emailed them. Got the "We are sorry, this item is not in stock but we will order it and should have it within 3-5 working days".

So I reply and suggest that they keep their website updated and also that the putter I ordered, was still listed as being "In stock". They replied with an apology and stated "We have now advised our web team of this".

Another 10 days later and the putter is still listed in stock, and haven't heard a word as to the whereabouts of my putter. I have emailed - no response. I have been calling ALOT and it's either engaged or it rings out.

    My advice - AVOID.

Just to follow up on this - I finally got the putter today 3.5 weeks after been ordered. I eventually got in contact with them last week and they agreed to a 10% discount and a "free gift" (2 mizuno balls).

It's a shame about their stock issues because their prices do seem to be reasonable. I would imagine that the majority of stock listed as "in stock" is in fact, not in stock.

I think they do mean it is in stock.
    Just elsewhere.

Yeah... in stock in TaylorMade, Titleist, Ping etc. Just expect 3 weeks for the item to be sent to them first.

Same complaint ordered a driver shaft which the website said was "in stock" on the 26th of May and still waiting. No reply to email looking for an explanation either except to say they will get back to me.
Well it's either in stock or its not; I don't mind ordering if I know I will have to wait for an item out of stock but don't lie saying we have it here when they obviously don't.
It's a pity because its a well laid out website based in Ireland with good prices but I would be wary of ordering again considering I have never had any hassle with onlinegolf.co.uk.

I ordered a item 2 weeks ago which was ment to delivered In 3-5 working days and still have not recieved it, Try ringing there english number and you will struggling to get through within 40 mins to 1 Hour..(Based In N. Ireland)
If you send them a email there ment to get back to you within 24 hours. 2 days went by and get a e-mail saying that this item is now out of stock and will be shipped to you when it is back in stock .:confused::confused:. No indication what so ever when you will have the item. This item was paid for by credit card and the money was taking out of my girlfriends account..
After been told the item is now back and stock and has been shipped to you saying that u will recieve it the next day.. 2 days went by and still no item.
I rang again today 50 mins this time to get through to a superviser and tells me the item is with DPD and has been shipped to the wrong office..:mad::mad:.
I will never order anything off them no matter if they are 100% cheaper then everywhere else and told that to the superviser on the phone. He didnt even seem to care what so ever. I am still waiting on a phone call to tell me when I will have my item..

Just letting people know what a terrible service they have giving me and I would advise everyone to stay well clear of them..

really slow and very poor customer service, bought a Mizuno driver with an offer of a free hybrid, and then they said it was'nt available and offered no replacement, it took a month and 8 emails and 4 calls to find this out, on another purchase it took a month to get a sweater and the wrong one showed up, I could go on and on, but wont be going back

I believe they are not as reliable as before, used to get fantastic reviews, I heard there may be trouble ahead.

On a personal level, never had a problem with them, orders always arrived with in a few days by dpd.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 94 ✭✭whitefoot

There is certainly a problem with Golf Store Europe, last May I ordered Footjoy Icon shoes but a big delay plus lots of calls & emails finally yielded an admission that the item did not exist. The alternative was the same shoes in a half size smaller which I took but they never really tie correctly as result. Very frustrating and time wasting experience.

Another interesting point is that if you physically visit one of the proper shops they have in Derry and show the item or pricing from the internet they do not want to know, simply saying that is the "Warehouse" you would need to order from "Them".

Golf Store Europe take indifference to a whole new level in my experience with them.

For anyone still interested in using this site, there is a €12 discount code available. 'FREE10' just used it.

I think it's a bit obvious that they operate a web front, which basically means ( as someone who has setup a few before for clients) you had a front end shop via a website, but hold no stock. you take the payment received for an item and then use that payment to make a purchase from a wholesaler.

It could also alternatively, be an agreement with a wholesaler whereby you setup a frontend web store, and the stock is actually shipped direct from the wholesaler. You basically receive a commision on the sale, and act as a storefront for the wholesaler. Typically a large wholesaler could have dozens of these web fronts.

If you find yourself ordering items which say instock, but take time to arrive, its most likely a case they don't carry actual stock. However this is why you get them at a cheaper rate, as the operator doesn't have outlandish costs for housing stock.

You just need to weigh up the cost of the saving, against the timeframr you want the item

That would be fine if Golf Store Europe clearly stated their prices can result in extended delivery times but that is not their stated delivery promise. Reading the posts on this thread, the complaint here about Golf Store Europe is they claimed in many cases to have the items in stock and took our money. Then after hearing nothing and many phone calls and emails we discover the items do not exist or will be significantly delayed. This was not the service we bought at the time of purchase. This was shameless misrepresentation. Experience this frustration yourself, I assure you it is not pleasant and Golf Store Europe are so hit & miss no one should buy from them who might actually need the item within 4 weeks.

Unfortunately I didn't read these entries before placing an order with Golf Store Europe, ordered an 'in stock' driver on 25th August, money charged 26th August however still no delivery.
I have emailed and tried to telephone but a waste of time. absolute sham. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!
