Anyone tried PING G15 or G10 Irons?

I'm considering changing my irons. My game is not that good after a 3 year break, my irons are Mizuno Comp EZ and are really for mid to low handicap players, whereas my handicap is over 20 somewhere.

Has anyone got comments on Ping G10 or G15 irons?
And is there any noticable difference between the old and new versions?

Most of the review web pages tend to overate all clubs a bit so it's hard to believe some of them.

I've booked a practice session with them to see how they feel.

    Thanks in advance.

I've been playing for nearly 30 years, mostly with Ping irons. I play off 9. My last set were G2s with h/l 3, 4 & 5.

I was never really happy with them & a few months ago, I tried my son's Cobra FP irons. They are much easier to hit, get a nice flight and I find them more accurate.

My other son has Cobra S9s & these are more suited to mid to high handicappers. Beautiful irons.

I'm not trying to put you off the Pings but I wouls suggest that you try the Cobra S9 irons.

Thanks for the reply, I'll keep an open mind and see what the pro advises during the fitting, I'm not tied to Ping.

    Cheers.

I play the Ping G10 irons from 4 to PW ( i do have a SW wedge in the set but prefer to use my own wedge set).

I really like them, I have improved a hell of a lot in my consistency since I changed to them. Until recently I could not hit the 4 iron, however after a break of 3 or 4 weeks I can now hit it. I dont know what the G15's are like as I have never tried them, I dont plan on changing from the G10's for a while yet.

Looking forward to receiving my new set of Ping G15s soon. Hope it can shave a few shots off my game. Will let you know how I get on!

Just back from a testing session and found Taylormade Burner Plus to be very nice, they felt better that the Ping for some reason.

And they come with a hybrid 3 & 4.... seems like a good option.

Will do, the fitting session figured I needed a longer club with thicker grips.

BTW, McGuirks Blanch have an awsome testing bay with flight path projected up on a screen.
After several shots you can see a pattern emerging because it displays all the shots at the same time. I'd love to have that kit at home !!!

Just so you know, Ping G15 are basically Ping Rapture V2 (the cavity is pretty much identical), the V2 being more expensive as they use titanium on face of club, for further distance, G15 being SS.

I recently tried the G15 irons with the Burner 09 and Burner Plus with some other brands, for comparison.

Found the G15 and the Burner 09 best, purchased as set of Burner 09 irons as got them at €100 reduced at local Pro Shop (Ping were full price), as apparently price was on at minute, as sales low.

I'm a high handicapper, however fitting was free so took that option up.
I needed thinner grips (shorter fingers), needed 3degree upright (Shorter hands for my height), stiff shaft (due to swing speed, even though always thought my swing speed was not fast, again this could lead to a more pronounced slice).

Tested several last night at the range...

    Ping G10
    Big Bertha
    Burner Plus
    Mizuno MX100

And to be honest they all felt much the same to me.
Far easier to hit than my semi blades which cost me €600!!!

The Mizuno are on special at €345... seems like a good deal.
