Calf muscle strain - Help!

I strained my calf muscle last Friday and rested it until today. I was rearing to go when I got home from work and got straight into my running clothes. Then coming down the stairs I felt a sharp pull in my calf (the same one) and now it's giving me pain again. The problem is I'm doing a charity run in two and a half weeks and this is really messing up my training schedule. Any tips on how I can get this sorted quick?

You can't. It's hurting for a reason, if you keep up you could exacerbate the injury. Get to a physio who'll tell you how bad it is, and then RICE (Rest, Ice, Elevate, Compress). Usually 4-12 weeks rest.

and you should read the charter which asks you not to ask for medical advice here.
