    Hi,
Was wondering if anyone could give a little advice as I am new to this kind of thing. I have the option of either an old large house requireing a lot of work or a site for a new build, I know what my budget is so have an idea what I can get for my money in a new build. Regarding the old house I have an idea what I want to do, it would involve an extention and significant alteration internally, however I have no idea if my budget would be sufficiuent to leave me with a finished house. Since I only have an idea what I want to do I will be looking for someone to draw up plans or ideas of what I could do in detail. So how much am I looking at to get an archetict in to basically come up with a few ideas and costing so I can work out the feasibility of either renevating or having plans drawn up for a new build. Thanks in advance for any help.

thank for the pm and everyone who contacted me. Anybody do something similar recently? If so how much did you invest in finding out if it was worthwhile renovating. I really need to find out how much it will cost me to get the job done to see if I can afford it and with a budget which will be relatively tight I dont want to spend huge money to find out this particular project is a non runner.

mutiply the proposed floor area by 1800 - 2000 euro and that will be a rough cost. This number will allow for decent finishes and for any unknown minor issues that arise. I have found its a good number to work with and usually quite accurate
