    Hi,

Seems the earphones that came with my iPhone 3GS are broken or at least only the left side is working.

I´ve been looking for a replacement pair that also has a remote control i.e. pause/start music, skip to next/previous song and/or change volume.

I´ve tried looking in this forum but didn´t really see any recommendations that fitted these requirements.

I´ve been looking at these http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/hf2.aspx but not sure if they´re worth the money and the reviews on the apple site are a bit conflicting

Is your iPhone under warranty? i.e. You didn't get it off eBay or buy it in Kazakhstan or something...

If so Apple will replace your faulty headphones free of charge in double-quick time.

Just do a quick test to see if another pair of headphones don't do the same thing, before you send the old ones off.

I sent off a set of headphones to get replaced only to find that it was the headphone socket on my iPhone that was faulty (they replaced that whole device instead).

these headphones dont have an inline remote but they have brilliant sound quality so keep them in mind. plus they come in white so they will match the old ones :pac:

Have a look in the socket with a torch. There may be just a bit of lint/something in there effecting one end of the earphone jack. Every so often I pull the iPhone out of my pocket and find a bit of fluff in there!

Happened to me. Just bang it off a table a few times. Went away after that.

Bose have just launched new headphones that are designed to operate with the iPhone (and other phones). I have the last generation of the headphones (they're exactly the same except they don't have the all important microphone) and I find them excellent. They're a little pricey at around the €100 mark but if you look after them they'll last forever. The Bose shop at Dundrum Town Centre let me try them before I bought them.
