Health scare for Davy Fitz, best wishes to him

Was sorry to hear that. I'd be sh!te scared if I heard my heart had to be operated on. Maybe he'll have to take life a little more easy from now on.

Davy is a very young man. He's probably been one of the lucky ones that it has been discovered that he needs treatment. Best of luck to him.

Perhaps a job in sport might not be the best for him at the moment. The pressure of management is something he could do without.

Yeah, wishing him well and a speedy recovery.

    From a Clare supporter!

When he's on the sideline you could nearly see him having a heart attack, just like many other managers, especially in the Premier League. Glad to see it has been caught and he can look after himself accordingly. Maybe it will act as an incentive for other sports people to get themselves checked out, best of luck to him.

Like I said in the OTT, this has probably been coming. You won't find a more committed hurling man in the country, whether it be with Waterford, LIT or Sixmilebridge, but this could be the signal he needs to take a step back, not just from Waterford but maybe hurling completely. He jumped straight from 17 years of inter county playering into inter county management without a sniff of a break, and the pressure that comes with managing a team like Waterford, especially when he's based in Clare, must put him under severe strain.

He's done very well for his first stint in inter county management, but a while away to take it easy on himself will be for the best for him, and then come back bigger and better in the coming years.

Daysha I think he's just one of those guys that couldn't leave it if he tried.. Can't see him dropping hurling entirely, maybe cutting back a bit.

I don't know if its in that article their or not but it's running in his family, heart problems so although its the stress that triggerd it, their was always a big chance of something happening to him.

As someone said above idoesn't matter what you think of him as a player, manager you have to wish him the best of luck.

Lads ye have it all wrong. If you really want him to get better ye have to tell him he hasn't a hope and he was never any good. Bring out the competitive side in him.
