According to the view askew website Kevin Smith will be in Dublin on the 14th of October [I've been told this clashes with some important football game in Croker]

On a side note anyone else slightly annoyed that the map for the Dublin event is that of the UK and Northern Ireland and not the Republic?

I just emailed the website after I noticed if you click the map in the top left you can go to a big map of the UK and they have Belfast marked as the location for the Dublin event - I'd let them off with the small tiny map but marking Belfast as Dublin? How hard is it to get a full map of Britain AND Ireland.

Yeah I think they might be on sale this week or next, friend was telling me he's in Vicar St on the 14th of October all right.

Yeah, that's actually very bad. Hopefully they'll fix it on foot of your e-mail.

Did you email viewaskew@viewaskew.com? Because gmail won't let me, says it doesn't recognise the address.

Aye bad form on the Dublin in Belfast. Bugs me - what's the problem with a full map of Ireland? also the UK colours in his name. Silly americans...

I emailed both that email and website email webmaster@viewaskew.com ... Took a quick look at the website forum and a few people have pointed out the Belfast/Dublin mix up so hopefully it will get fixed asap.

How much would people reckon tickets for this will be roughly?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,429 ✭✭✭✭star-pants

London was 30-40 pounds, which is around 35-45 euro, but it might be higher than that?

Got mine front row centre, only just noticed the password a few minutes before the presale started. I thought it was going to be "silentbob" like the other presales.

Front and centre here too, tickets 7 and 8. Still don't know if I can actually make it though.

got mine too..2 rows from front. I bought 8 tickets in total..Hope I dont have trouble getting rid of 4 of them for face value..I really hope this sells out.
I visited the Secret Stash in Red Bank for my 30th last year and told the guy behind the counter to tell Kev to get his fat ass over here for a Q and A!! This year "this scrapper has come to me"..cant wait!!!

Thanks. Got my tickets. Not front and centre, off to the side. Have to find someone to go with me now.

The presale just started and I hit best available. But it seems like they are possibly in the tiered seating? but like second row. Will I have a good view do you think.

Was kinda hoping to be in the middle section but I assumed best available would do that :(

    Myseats:

    BLOCKB B CLERKS €40.00 €5.00
    BLOCKB B CLERKS €40.00 €5.00
    BLOCKB B CLERKS €40.00 €5.00

    Seats:9 to 7

    heres the floorplan

Like a muppet I selected floor seats instead of table seats, so my "front and centre" seats are actually at the rear tiered seating. Should still be a good view but i'm annoyed at my idiocy.

it appears as though I did the same....:( ah well vicar street is not that big so The view should be sweet.

There goes my hope of getting kev to sign his new comic book :(

I seriously can't wait for this, I was going to go to his london show. I have wanted to see a live Q&A for years. The guy is a legend.

The rear tiered seating is actually a great place for a show at Vicar St. I've sat there numerous times when I went to a gig where the whole ground floor was general admission.

Table 52 smack in the middle for myself and my brother. Appears to be a bunch of boards people heading, anyone one up for a meet up before or after?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,316 ✭✭✭✭the_syco

Will be heading with non boardsies (well, assuming they agree to go) but would peel away to meet people if there was a meet up.

might be worth checking the kevin smith coming to dublin thread in the film forum, bunch of boards folks heading and some got two or more tickets before checking who was free to go so there might be some going spare.

will check tomorrow with one of the sponsors - if they know anything.

    fingers crossed.

Ps. I'll be at table 23

Lucky You. I can't even go, nobody I know gets him and no point asking my partner who'll just ask to leave after ten minutes lol, being partially deaf does not help either, But would just love to meet the guy.

I'm taking a leaf from the Gigs & Events charter here - if you want to buy or sell tickets, take it to toutless.com or somwhere else that's not boards.ie. The Gigs & Events forum doesn't allow people to buy/sell tickets, that rule is being enforced here too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,788 ✭✭✭ztoical

Kevin Smith was great - best to check the film board thread on the show as that's where all reports are going up.
