My fiance and I want to have a civil ceremony somewhere in the South East, preferably near Kilkenny. We are looking for somewhere to have the ceremony and the dinner and party in one venue that is intimate and has a touch of class. anyone have any suggestions?

    Hi,:)
Many of the hotels do the civil ceremonies and receptions now. I know it's not in Kilkenny but I would recommend the Faithlegg House Hotel and Golf Club in Faithlegg Co. Waterford. It's very close to Waterford City and is a beautiful setting. Check out their website. http://www.faithlegg.com/index-hotel.aspx?groupid=6
    Good luck!

Hey, Im getting married next October in the Manor Court in Waterford. Very old Manor house and you get use of the gardens for photos and they give use free use of the ceremony room which can hold a lot of people. However if ur wanting to do ur own food that may be a problem. The Manor Court can offer a wide variety of food and they do a large buffet later in the night. The place is stunning and has lots of character. They do really good rates too and are not expensive.

The web address is : www.waterfordmanorhotel.ie

One highlight of this venue is totally private and there are no other guests allowed stay in the hotel on the day of ur wedding or the day before. Its all yours for the wedding!

the seafield hotel in gorey has three different function rooms, one large indoor catering for large wedding, small indoor catering for small wedding and an outdoor purpose built beautiful marquee too.

Mount Wolsey hotel and ballykealey manor are really stunning too. Ballykealy manor is an old rectory type house with holiday cottages surrounding it so that might be economical for guests.

thanks everyone for the advice, just to clarify we are not looking for a hotel, we are looking for a venue that we can hire and organise everything ourselves. Thanks
