    Hi all,

With what looks like the Winter approaching, I'd love to plan a week long holiday over christmas to get some winter sun!!!

I'll be going with the mother-in-law, and fiance, and the requirements are primarily good weather, flying time of less than about 5 hours, and somewhere with a bit of sightseeing, preferably by the sea.

Any suggestions please? Would be appreciated :pac:

    Thanks!!

Egypt is pretty popular around Christmas.
Either the Red Sea, Cairo or Luxor.

was in malaga a few days before christmas last year, about 2.5hrs from either dublin or shannon, by the sea, warmish (about 18-20 degrees during the day) and really christmassy (blows dublin away in terms of lights, huge christmas tree in the city center), the muslim countries like egypt and morocco while similar temperatures won't have any christmas stuff up (we arrived from morocco a day earlier)

lots of sightseeing in that area, Sierra Nevada National Park lies to the east, marbella and gibraltar to the west, a visit to the rock is a must just to see the monkeys, they do fleece the tourists there with euro-sterling exchange rate so bring sterling
