I hope somebody can help. I am in no way technically minded but this is my problem.

I have standard SKY. Movies and Sports pack. When this was installed the technician did something through the attic that allows you to watch the SKY in the sitting room where the box is not connected, but only with the channel that is on the main source. I have a mouse like device that allows you to change channel.

I also have NTL, throughout the house, and in particular for the kitchen.

I want to update to SKY HD and get multiroom in a second room but also have the SKY available in the kitchen without any box. Is this possible or easy to do. Basically I want rid of NTL and to have SKY available in 3 rooms with two boxes.

I think i have the same sort of queryu here. I have a spare box from when i upgraded to sky +hd. Basically what i need to know is how to use this spare box to watch sky in the bedroom, feeding off the signal going through the main box. As above im not technically minded so not familiar with much of the terms used on this forum. Any help appreciated.
    Cheers

yeah you use a sky eye, you'll need to run a coxial cable from the sky box to other tv. there's 2 coxial ports at the back of the sky box use the one marked '2'. u'll have to enable the port through the sky menu. the sky eye allows u to change channel on the tv (without the box). so u'll have to watch the same channel in both rooms.

Yes, it is relatively easy to do and would be a regular occurrence in many installations, however you may need to give the installer an extra few bob for his troubles as officially I don't think he has to do the kitchen one.

Basically the installer will run an extra wire from the sat dish to your Sky HD box (if there aren't two already there for Sky+). Another wire from the sat dish to the room getting the multiroom box, plus a wire from the Sky HD box to the kitchen.

Obviously this is assuming you already have a lead going from your sky box to the second room and yes it is easy to do yourself.
