Yes they are busier, extra buses and more double-deckers are being used on both 101 and 100X routes.

The 101 is an all stops service via Balbriggan, Swords, Dublin Airport, Santry and Drumcondra; not reccommended for peak-time commuting from Drogheda to the city centre.

The 100X uses the tunnel but it only stops at Drogheda bus station, it also serves Dublin Airport and runs through the city centre to Stephen's green and Leeson St. I am not up to date on the current situation but if demand warrants at peaks seperate buses will be used for Airport and City passengers.

Matthews Coaches also run an express from Drogheda to Dublin Parnell Street via Drumcondra with a stop at city north (Hotel just off the M1 south of Balbriggan) and a few drops between Whitehall and Parnell St.

The rail replacement buses from the station go direct to the city via the tunnel but with the rail station as a starting point they have a slower exit/entry from Drogheda to the M1 than the 100X and Matthws who use the Donore road.

I would say the rail replacement buses are likely to be the quickest but there wouldn't be much in it between the three. Each has a route that can cause some delay, especially on the outbound journey Mountjoy Sq to Drumcondra can be painfully slow but North Wall and Amiens St area is also prone to delays.

Which is best for you would really depend on where in the city you need to get to and your times.

just go down tp the train statio and get on one of the many buses which goes direct to connelly through the port tunnel. Takes about 50 mins or so at peak.
