Thoughts on Line 6 (Pod Pedals)

I bought a Pod XT years back (£500 iirc) and never really liked. I was never happy with the sounds on it.

I use the guitar Rig 3 and Amplitube programmes these days and I love them.
Then I saw the new Propellerhead Record programme coming out which has a Line 6 guitar interface/amp modeling feature on it and when trying it out had the same opinion as what I have to the Pod XT.

Anyone else experience this or have opinions on the Pod sound?

I used the guitar Pod XT Pro a year or so ago in a studio in the UK and didnt like the dirty sounds.. Clean it was fine, but the overdrive/dist all sounded very digital and flat to me. The sound was too polished.

I have the bass version at home and that seemed ok (although I don't use it much).

In short.. I'm not a big fan.

    My thoughts exactly.

I have an X3 Live and a Pocket Pod. I like them a lot, and find them quite convincing and easier than having many pedals(I tried that). Great for creating and experimenting with. I'd play them live too but I'm not that serious about tone on the road just yet! :)

I use the Pod XT live pedal board and frankly I think it is a gem. The pre-programmed sounds are a bit duff, but if you get in and start editing you can get some great sounds. Perfect for pub gigs.

However for recording I just dont think it cuts anything beyond demo quality. Nothing beats a valve amp, but live, ordinary punters do not notice one iota of difference and it saves me lugging an amp around.

Only thing I use seperate with it is my Vox Wah. The onboard wah is noisy and has very little sweep on it so I only use it as a volume pedal.

wasnt overly impressed with the xt, but I found the x3 live to be a huge step up. Was impressed by it. But at that I would stick to the boss gt-10.
