Anybody ever taken part in this event? Thinking of doing it and wondering what it's like, so would appreciate any feedback.

No problem, again as with Lap the Lough the website looks good but was curious about the road quality, is it nice countryside etc.
It's not far about from my home so hence would be an option and at 100km it won't be too stressful!

It's run by Castle Hill CC, who also organised the Lap the Lough. This time there is a T-shirt and medal that are handed out at the end. There appears to be a lot more climbing than on Lap the Lough though (description mentions a "first ascent" to 250m, although I have not yet been able to find the ride on map my ride) which suggests it may be more challenging.

Just mapped it. It's hardly Wicklow but the main climb is at 85km!

Sounds interesting - is it something to use a MTB on? I see several points were loose surfaces are prevalent and points where dismounting for safety is advised etc

Don't think so given it's a 100km, think those points are just driveways up to the castle leslie. Might be worth emailing the organisers and checking.

Ok just a follow up for any one that may be interested in doing it next year.
It started in the Blessingbourne Estate just outside Fivemiletown. Was quite an easy place to get to and was signposted from the town, nice house on a lake was the background for the start.

The route was well marshaled with a rolling motorbike road block, the route itself was quite nice through rolling countryside no major hills and road surface with the exception of a couple of roads and one nasty rough downhill was quite good. Food was provided at the half way point and I believe there were two water stops although we didn't notice them.

The only major hill was about 10km from the end which was a short steep affair with a lot of people choosing to walk it. Checked it on map my ride after and it hit 9%.

Overall a nice sportive, everyone very friendly, food was ok could have done with being a bit better but seeing as it was only 100 km it didn't matter. But it was very well run and we got a t shirt and medal so thats always good!
