I'm going to be living in the UK for the next few months and my insurance on Irish reg car is up this week. Will be getting rid of it in a few weeks but is there any way of getting temporary insurance just until then? Is there any UK company that would do it? Or any Irish company?

    Any advice appreciated! :)

I take it that you have spoken with your own insurance company about this already.

Yes, they begrudgingly said we were ok for a couple of months but will not renew as we're living here now. Would have sorted it before now but didn't think we'd need to, there's been a delay with getting a company car sorted so we'll need to use the Irish one for a bit.

If you are going to be selling it in a few weeks then just get it registered over there. Most likely cheaper insurance then!

Can we do that if it's a hire purchase car?? :o

We're giving it back as soon as the minimum number of payments have been paid. Never again! What a rip-off! (the husband did it!!!)

You would need to look at the T&Cs of the HP agreement.

AFAIK there are companies that will do temp cover in the UK. But I think you need UK reg. Have you tried google?
