Hession and Gillick Well Placed in World Athletics Tour Rankings

    Hession in the 200 and Gillick in the 400 are well placed in the rankings for the World Athletics Tour. Top 7 or 8 go to the World Athletics Final in Greece in mid September. The scores from your 5 best meets count with GL getting higher points. Not sure of the points system.

    Hession leads the 200m rankings and Gillick is 5th in the 400.

    great to see Irish athletes doing so well. hopefully the media and sponsors will give this the attention it deserves as it seems to me athletics is underpromoted in comparison to other sports.

    Yeah, it's shameful the lack of support they get, another irish sports body that is light years behind its international counterparts

    Carey 5th in 400mH 57,81, winner was Morosanu.

    Dave Campbell 3:42.67 for 6th.

    Derval 3rd tonight in Zagreb in 13.08 behind Harper (12.67) and Ennis-London (12.76).
    Vlasic improves to 2.08:eek: just needs another cm now! Deirdre Ryan was 7th with 1.85.
