    Hi

Last night i went to gym and ran 5 mile on treadmill.
I was using my footpod for first time and it registered 10k.
Should have been 8k. Does anyone have the same problems with theirs?
And is there anything i can do to get a more accurate time and distance?

I wouldn't trust a treadmill and footpod together as the footpod would be setup to react to road conditions.

My advice would be to try it on a measured course of at least 1 mile or, better still, 4 laps of a track (1600m).

Doesn't the footpod calibrate itself against the GPS-based data in some way? The footpod is actually designed for instances when you are running indoors (e.g. on a treadmill) as when outdoors (in most siuations) you won't need a footpod as the GPS data will suffice. Read the manual about calibrating the footpod against the GPS data (you will need to do this outside, of course!).

    Here's the 405's manual:
    http://www8.garmin.com/support/userManual.jsp?market=67&subcategory=68&product=010-00658-10

Foot pod calibration instructions on page 37 and 38. You can calibrate by:
    1) Using a known distance (e.g. calibrate against the treadmill's screen)
    2) Calibrate against GPS Data
    3) Manual calibration - manually adjust upwards or downwards using a 'calibration factor'.
