With reference to the above SI. Can an EMT/P/AP wander into a chemist and buy drug. say Morphine, Cyclizine, Haloperidol, Diazepam.

With out background reading, it appears they can, also, can anyone see where the say what an EMT/P/AP are defined as. Could a person off the street, or an English 6 day EMT say they are an EMT and buy the drugs in the EMT list, ?

All opinions welcome but i would like a good answer.

No is the short answer as those drugs mentioned are only available by prescription.
The Ambulance Service and Fire Service in Dublin are licenced to hold and dispense certain drugs where the EMT, Paramedic or A/Paramedic are licenced to administer those drugs during the course of their duty.
Similar to the way a hospital holds a supply of drugs, drugs in hospitals can only be prescribed and administered by the hospital's licenced staff, Doctors, Nurse Practicioner etc.

In relation to your question on an English EMT. I assume you mean any person with an English EMT qualification?
They must register with PHECC and reach PHECC standard EMT before practicing in the South of Ireland.

Definitely not. A strict record must be kept regarding drugs, this is a legal requirement.
Why would one be interested in purchasing drugs like Morphine and Diazapam etc?
