New iPhone not synchronizing

Got a new iPhone the other day from o2. Installed the latest iTunes on my Samsung NC10 netbook but even tho iTunes recognises the phone, I cant sync the phone with my computer to add music and photos etc. Is there a setting on the phone needing to be activated?

I had the same problem with an iPhone 3G S 16gb. Couldn't work it out. Eventually I just dragged and dropped my albums. Works fine now but still no Sync.

Do you guys have the 'manually manage music and videos' box checked under the Summary tab of your iPhone in iTunes? Gerry, this would explain why you can only drag and drop music onto your device.
