Hi all, don't know whether this should be in the Arts & Crafts section or here, but anyway..

I was wondering about making my own plugs for my ear out of wood, clay, etc. Has anyone ever had any experience making their own plugs?

Haven't tried it yet. I wouldn't use clay as it's going essentially in your body, if it leaks anything you could have a very nasty reaction.

Some woods are ok and are quite bio-compatible, others aren't. Be very careful if you do decide to make some. PTFE/Teflon is a safer bet and easier to make stuff out of than wood, and cheaper too
