I gave someone the loan of my itouch for a day and got it back with several apps deleted, most notably the email client that comes as standard with it.Is there anyway I can restore it?Do I need to buy it or can you buy it?I never noticed the name.Anyone have it?

A quick synch with iTunes should restore purchased apps.

Not so sure about the e-mail client, though.

I'm not sure if yours is the same as mine, but I would go onto iTunes and click on the iPod on the left hand side, then under the tabs - 'Summary, Music, Movies' I click on 'Applications'. I have mine set to Sync Applications - Selected Applications. If yours is like this also then find the app and check the box to allow it to be synced into the iPod.

The email client is not deletable from your iPod unless you're jalibroken and you've either SSH'd into your device and deleted it manually, or downloaded a program from Cydia to do it for you. If this is something your friend did then the only way to get it back is to restore. Are you sure it hasn't just been moved to another page though? Tried swiping right a few times? Also, if you're on 3.0, try searching for it in Spotlight.

My ipod is not jailbroken so none of the possibilities you mention could be the case here. There are only 2 pages of apps on my ipod so it's easy to look through. There's definitely no sign of it. The space it had occupied is just a blank black space on the first screen. The other deleted apps are just gone from the ipod and what's left has rearranged and realligned themselves into place not leaving any blank spaces.I've been turning it on and off all day in the hope it'll reappear.
I'll try and restore the ipod tomorrow. Thank you all for the advice :).
