    Alright, so TheFetishBall is coming to christchurch soon. found out about it the other night, and would really like to go, mostly for the body mod elements, so was just looking it up...

    and found this bit...
    Dress code: The Fetish Ball is a costume essential event - you must be dressed accordingly or you will not be allowed entry. NO discussions, NO refunds

    Acceptable costumes include: Fantasy/Fetishwear such as drag, corsets, uniforms, leather, lingerie, latex, rubber, PVC, feathers, cyber, sci-fi, or special fx costuming - or anything else you might dream up. Sheer fabrics, and revealing outfits are encouraged. Gothic - try to make it as over the top as you can Creativity is key - anything made from Rubber, PVC, Leather, Metal, Vinyl or Latex will be fine

    NOT acceptable:
    * Everyday street clothes
    * Regular business suits (tuxedos are OK)
    * Denim of any kind or colour (unless it is part of a pretty spectacular costume)
    * Sneakers (unless they are part of your costume)

    now... quite a few of ye have met me... im really not the most outgoing fashionwise. usually just wear men's tshirts and 3/4 length baggy jeans with skateshoes, a beanie and a flannel shirt. quite predictable.

    i am not comfortable bearing flesh/cleavage/figure/silhouette, or wearing leather.... and im seriously broke. of that list, the things that seem most doable for me would be goth or tuxedo... but then cost becomes more of an issue. quite :confused: at the moment. it's something i would love to see, but im not an outgoing person, particularly re the way i dress, and it's already a bit intimidating that ill probably be going on my own. :/

    any help/tips/advice? :S

    Goth/fantasy seems the easiest out of all of them to do as anything goes really. What black clothes do you own? Boots of some sort would be a good help.

    you could do a steampunk airman type thingy. you'll need a leather jacket or something like an old air pilot would wair, some sort of trousers, usually white or cream, get a white scarf, some sort of boots, possibly get some leather gloves and of course some goggles. just keep the colours brown, black, cream and white

    obviously not as fancy as this but you get the idea. (took out the img code cuz the pic was a little big)

    yeah, see im quite fond of goth... but just never quite worn the clothes myslef... as a girl, ive never really done the feminine clothes thing, but alwyas appreciated them on others, while now, i dont really wear all that much black... actually, ive black cords and a black band tshirt on today, but most days it's purple/green/denim jeans with green/red/black tshirts and a flannel shirt... i have one... OMG my bondage trousers. hmmmm.

    that could be a bit much effort, given the lack of jacket, suitable trousers, scarf, gloves and goggles... probably coulda rooted it all up if i was still living in irelnad though... kinda more minimalist now. awesome style and all, but i just dont think ill be able to pull it off :/

    hahahahah, the thought has occurred to me! but waaaayyy too exposed. too many curves on show. would rather the corset option tbh. (:eek:)
