I have had my little Bonsai for quite a while now and it has been going fine i have kept the soil just a little damp and the tree has been doing really well i had a load of new growth recently and the leaves where all lovely and strong and healthy, that was on Friday night on sunday they had all shriveled up as if they had dried out. I didnt do anything differently than i had been doing and it seems weird it would dry up so quickly.

So my question is it dying can i do anything to help it almost all the leaves have now fallen off only a week later. Is there any hope that its just going into winter mode or am i really being very hopefull !!

dlofnep, may I suggest that if you have nothing helpful to add then please don't reply :)

Rev. Kitchen, I had the exact same thing happen to me a few years back, all the leaves fell off in the space of a week.

Thinking it was dead to the world I decided to get rid of it and put it outside the back door with the intention of putting it in the bin and forgot all about it, about 5 months later I was outside and noticed one leaf on it so took it back inside and one whole side of the tree was perfectly fine.

So it stayed like that until it was left in the place I was living when I moved, my guess is it thought it was going into winter and the reason why only half of it grew back is the other half was likely killed by frost from being outside during the 5 months.
