industrial coatings certifications

I was on a course last year to do with industrial coatings, everything from waterproofing, structural coatings, industrial flooring etc.

I am now toying with the idea of setting up a coatings business here in Ireland. The machinery to spray these coatings is very complicated and expensive. Before I take the leap, I am trying to find out more about certification of materials and what standards are acceptable to various industries in Ireland ( Marine, agri, civil engineering, Bord gais, ESB, Irish rail, telecoms etc)

I understand IAB certification is important for the materials to be specified in Ireland, Is the BBA mark acceptable also?

What about European and international standards? I’m thinking of WRAS , ISO 9001

    Do European/BBA Standards supersede IAB?

    Any advice is appreciated
