Should I get my Laptop repaired or buy a new one?

    Hi all,

My laptop broke the other day. So I took it to Digilog (a repair shop in Cork) to get an estimate for a repair.
They said it would cost 250 to 300 euro to fix and they said it had a faulty motherboard.

The Laptop is HP and is a almost 2 years old. I don’t know what the specs are but it cost about 700 euro at the time.

I was wondering if people thought it was worth fixing or did you think I would be better off buying a new one?

My fear is that I get it fixed and a month later it gives trouble again and costs me more money.

Also I was wondering how much I would have to spend to get the equivalent in a new laptop to my current one?
(or maybe this is an impossible question when I haven’t given the Specs)

    Cheers,
    Andy

Andy, usually HP Laptops aren't shy about boasting what model they are, have a look at the top\around the keyboard etc.. there's usually a model number\lettering somewhere.

Report back and someone can give you a better\clearer answer!

If its going to cost €250-300 to get it repaired then you will be better off buying a new laptop.
