Where do you get your rock/metal fix?

I was wondering if we could get together some sort of list of those radio stations and TV shows that play good rock and metal and what weekly shows / broadcasts / websites etc. are essentials for you?
I have gotten mad into Planet rock radio. It's also available in the digital radio menu on NTL digital TV.
I also regularly check BBC4 for their number of excellent live shows and rockumentaries.(it's a word)
Is there something rock / metal you always tune into? Or a one off special you are looking for? I need to get me some education in the ways of rock / metal.

There was some radio station I heard once here that was in Irish, but played rock/metal on a sunday night. I remember hearing Rainbow and StudioForce on it. There were more but I can't remember.

This is a great idea for a thread. I can't provide much useful info as the nearest I get to metal on the television is clicking onto Kerrang, Scuzz or Rockworld.tv on Sky Digital when I'm over at my parents' place.

I usually (snort) use RSS feeds.

(this link might not work, just use the nuclearblast.com and follow links to the rss feeds)

I also use an excellent program called Radiosure (http://www.radiosure.com/). You can listen to stations (and add your own) by genre. Very handy.

I've recently started listening to stations on Shoutcast radio via Winamp. Very handy, never knew it was there before... lots and lots of METAAAL! :D

A specific programme I like watching is "The Digital Darkside" on Scuzz. It's on Mondays at 9 I think.

It has some good music on it and strays from the usual mainstream daytime Scuzz (So no pop rock or anything like that just good ole metal)

Also this is a very helpful thread.

ITunes is full of specialist radio stations from all genres. If you dont have Itunes follow the links below to the websites; these four would be my favourites

The two lads that do the metal hammer podcast have a radio show on NME radio nowadays. First started the other week. It's great :pac:
They play mostly new metal but put in a good few classics too.
    It's on every Sunday at 7pm - 9pm.
You can listen to it on the NME website

I posted this a while back for rock fans who want to listen something a bit curious then I highly recommend the head heritage site's radio streams. the Hardrock sampler is a must for 70's metal/hard rock fans

    http://www.headheritage.co.uk/wsym/

    For Prog fans

There are plenty of mp3 streams for every kind of Prog you can think of (Math Rock/Prog Metal/Space rock/ Symphonic prog/ RIO/ Zeuhl...)

I don't listen to radio stations, I just do my rounds of bebo-stalking and see what my friends are listening to, or even random strangers for that matter. It works a treat.

those of you with sky dishes will be familiar with Sky Arts 1.

Over the last few days there was:
two Neil Young gigs from the 70's
    multiple Genesis rockumentaries
Peter Gabriel "growing up" tour concert

You'll also see, fairly regularly, Zappa plays Zappa (worth the monthly fee on it's own!)
    The Cream reunion gig
    various Clapton & buddies gigs
    Zep studio gig from'69
plus much more in a similar vein

Not much there for you metalheads, admittedly, but for the classic rock fan, it's worth trailing through days of listings to find the gems like the ones above.
