All the more reason to pick a more decent place to go - where you won't find these types of muppets and their behaviour is quickly stamped on.
Nice and Monte Carlo are my two favourite spots.

If Americans get involved this could very well lead to WW3.

They'll arrive late to the beach then work with the Russians to confiscate all the sunbeds from the Germans.

Unfortunately, also full of Russians and devoid of sun-loungers.:(

That won't work Biggins, was in a very nice resort last year and they were everywhere, the article is spot on with their behaviour.

New money, you know how it goes.

Very few Russians that I (and wife) have come across. Those that we did meet behaved like the rest there, with decorum.
    Loads of sun loungers too!

Boils down to, ya get what ya pay for.

I suppose your right in some respect about "New money" but at least we (us anyway) found they were no better or worse than the others there and were indeed well behaved.
I too agree with the article. Thats why we now avoid such places where possible.

I think that anyone that could have taught them some manners and "taste", died in the Gulags.

The ones with money to burn are the tackiest people on the planet.

I know a good few and they are generally sound until they have finished off that first bottle of vodka!

I deal with some Russians occasionally. Thats said, they are usually the very well, well off.
While they can indeed be brash to say the least, they have the brains to realise when they are in a (more expensive to be honest) place that smells of high class luxury and they (for the most of them) behave accordingly with the same mannerisms to those that have been there before them and beside them.
From one "new money" community that is reaching out across Europe with their new found wealth, they are only (in specific class of places) behaving accordingly to the surroundings, temperament and attitude of fellow travellers present or there before them setting earlier examples.

I've been very blessed to stay in some top class places across the world. For those places, I've found them to be no different than any other nationality.

Cheaper, maybe package holidays are a different ball game however in that they allow the floodgates to be open to all kinds from all levels of society and while the vast humble people of any country usually mind their manners, when on holiday, for some - not all by far, those common used manners like to go out the holiday window and take a break too!

Years ago for example I used to be in Ibiza a lot, most times working. Now as a holiday direction alone, not a hope in hell would I go there.
I go there now (not by my own choice), do what I do and get the hell out.
A certain category of British thugs have turned it into a riotous drunken hell hole. An absolute nightmare of a place at night once the loud, yobbish drunks (male and female) come out now.

It was two Americans that where the most opposed to the Russians. They went to school in Russia and said the Russians where horribly racist and just horrible people all round. I suppose it's not too surprising them being Americans in Russia but they where threatened with knives and all sorts.

In Latvia they didn't like the Russians either. They had this storey that Russia is moving it's citizens into E.European countries with the intention of eventually invading because there's so many Russians in that country. I thought it was a fantastic new and original version of "dey tuk our jwabs" but the Russians are not liked at all in those countries.

I hate to brand a nation!! But, I was in India a while ago and in Goa there are a lot of Russians and their behavior towards the Indians wasn't great. Very gruff, no such thing as a thank you or please, it was a case of banging the table to get attention sometimes! Short tempers, unsmiling grunts, hand waving to get rid of the waiter, G-strings on the beach (a cultural no-no). They made no effort to learn some Konkani or Hindi. The English and Irish in India were charming.

But you're probably dealing with debonair Russian secret agents (hope I haven't said too much).

In Kitzbühel, Austria - which is a pretty upmarket ski resort - many of the hotels have a 10% residency rule - i.e. they will not rent out more than 10% of their rooms to Russian people at any one time because they go nuts.
