UPC HD box, two video outputs (HDMI and Scart)

Does anyone know if it is possible to use the two outputs at the same time? I want to use the scart output for my slingbox, and the HDMI output for the TV.

If I plug them in individually, they both work, but when I put them in togetger, only the HDMI works. Is it possible to use both at the same time?

Shorry for such a short post but the answer is no. Only one at a time.

    Cheers, that's what I thought.

UPC are very limiting in what the box can use.

Either HDMI or SCART (but not both), and then disabled USB and ethernet ports. Very frustrating. No RF out either.

I guess they're just trying to protect their own revenue streams.

Is there such thing as a HDMI to HDMI and Scart splitter?

The signal that goes over HDMI is completely different, a purely digital one as opposed to the analogue signal that goes over SCART, so there's no analogue signal to split off.

When the UPC guy installed the HD box here, he connected both HDMI and SCART to the TV. Any idea why he did this and if he should have done this?

He probably did it just in case one source didn't work.

HDMI would always be preferred over SCART (quality of picture/audio).

No reason for him to do it (connect both), but also no reason for him not to.

The TV doesn't recognise the SCART as being connected so I suppose I might as well remove it.
