Meridian brand is often recommended, you get in in health shops Holland & barret do it, about €7 for a 1kilo tub, unsalted and no added rubbish, just 100% peanuts. Last time in H&B I had to ask for it, its a big tub and might take up too much shelf space, or else they want to flogg the dearer small tubs!

Though some would say other nuts are a better choice like almond or cashew butter (peanuts are not actually nuts, they are legumes, same family as peas -hence the name). These are usually very expensive though, it would be cheaper to make your own ones.

Crunchy or smooth is just taste preference, I would imagine crunchy has a negligible advantage of being slower to digest, maybe slightly lower GI. I get crunchy just because I like it better.

    meridan is the only one.
all the rest branded ones (in supermarkets etc..) have additives and some have trans fats.
