DX, on account of growing up watching WWF, and rarely catching WCW. I think NWO's earlier stuff was good, but then it got really stupid, really fast.

    nWo 4 life :)

DX. I never watched WCW, but have seen the nWo dvd they brought out shortly after they joined the WWF.

DX were funny. They were a central part of the Attitude era, then when HBK left and they went heel, they were even better. You loved them because you hated them so much.

The nWo, from what I saw on the dvd and reading about it, was shocking when they started. A real masterstroke. But they split into so many different groups, people changing sides etc. I imagine it wasn't much different to the WWF V Alliance storyline. A good idea, but executed badly.

Then nWos reformation in the WWF, which I did see, was just terrible. They came in and within a month, Hogan left. And who replaced him? X-Pac. I know HBK joined a while later, but by then it was too late. The inital buzz of their return was over and they never seemed to be a force to be reckoned with.

DXs returns are pretty funny, and while not without their flaws (burying people, dick jokes etc), they're still a great team.

nWo by a mile. This was the angle that really changed the face of pro wrestling, it knocked WWF off its perch as the top dog in US wrestling and forced the WWF to hit back with the Attitude era featuring Stone Cold and DX. There have been many factions in wrestling before and after the nWo but none come close to replicating its success. DX have given us many great moments but the nWo was just so ground breaking at the time, remember the hatred the crowds had for Hogan, Hall and Nash when they would pelt the ring with drinks. I'll spend the rest of the night on youtube reliving the nWo's greatest moments!!

DX back in the day were great. So were the nWo at first. The later versions of both were/are awful though

DX for me overall, they didn't do as much harm as the nWo did

NWO for me, simply because I could not stand them and always wanted to see them get beat.

DX on the other hand I could always take or leave, but they never got the same level of heat that NWO managed to get out of me.

NWO for me. History changing angle. Hulk turning heel was a shocker at the time. Were put over to the point where they brought WCW to their knees.

DX was imature and juvenile and I feel that they have dated more than the NWO. Anybody who worked a program with a DX member was usually made to look bad.

DX for me, an awesome support act to SCSA changing the landscape of professional wrestling. Everything just clicked when HHH took over, even the New Age Outlaws became likeable when they joined (which I never thought could happen).

I didn't grow up watching the nWo however I have seen enough DVDs to get the jist about what they were all about. It kind of came a farce in the end with the amount of members that where in it didn't it? DX on the other hand you count their membership on both hands.

I never saw much WCW. So I won't be voting this time.

Its still a great pairing to match up. Nice work Ger.

i went for DX, i just thaught they were more innovative, ground breaking , funny and an all round better team, the "war" on WCW was brilliant and i will always remember them "blowing up" cnn, they were more likeable as babyfaces and more hateable as heels which is not an easy task!

i voted DX and if your not down with that.....well you know the rest!

I watched both Nitro and RAW back then and I can safely say that the nWo were only interesting for a few months at best.

It got ridiculous when every week they had two more members and then to top it all off they botched the ending to the biggest match of them all when Sting was supposed to go over Hogan clean.

WWF got it right by keeping DX as a small group which meant they actually had other top stars to feud with.

Even after Shawn left, they brought in the right people to replace him and keep it entertaining.

DX should win this one on merit and not just because most people here would be more familiar with them.

Gotta vote for DX, if anything because I spent too much time saying all of this in various places as a kid

The crowds seemed hot towards everything back then.

On the reformation of the NWO, I remember the three of them, Hogan, Nash and Hall, all legging it from Steve Austin. THey were booked to look like assholes.

Dx by a long shot. Well the DX from 1997 to 1999 none of this new DX crap thats on raw the last few weeks....

NWO got over crowded with tonnes of members in it. Konnan, Nick Patrick (The nWo referee), Dennis Rodman, V.K.Wallstreet, Big Bubba Rogers, Randy Savage, Scott Norton, Brian Adams, Dusty Rhodes, Louie Spicolli etc. It started to turn into a joke!

Its a very tough one to call.

I really liked both groups back in the day.

But I'm going to go for the nWo because they were formed 1st and if their was no nWo their would have been no DX. They were the originals of this type of group basically.

Also went for the nWo because I hate these feckin "DX reunions" we get every few weeks now a days.

Also on the point of too many members in the nWo. It was kind of ahead of its time. They wanted to do a brand split and give nWo Thunder while WCW had Nitro. They even experimented with a few nWo run TV shows and PPVs.

So pretty much, Bischoff had the brand split idea long before Vince even dreamed of attempting it.

DX for me. While NWO helped to send WCW's ratings through the roof and ahead of WWF's, they were also one of the prime reasons that accounts for the downfall of the company.

The Horsemen were better than both by a mile though.:pac:

Dammit, I just realised I can't cheat and look at the results to see how the poll is going since I'm not a mod no more, feck!

    :)

i've abstained from voting in this one as tbh I didnt see enough of the NWO to be a proper judge.

from what i have seen and hear people say though id imagine the NWO's big decline will count against them majorly while the negatives for DX seem to be more related to their comebacks which have been monumentily dissapointing especially in comparison to the original. However the NWO suffered from this also with their terrible WWE incarnation, still though their debut is one of the most memorable things in pro-wrestling... so in short good choice again Ger, even if I (and im sure a few others) had an inclination that this would be one of the choices.

    DX.

I didn't have WCW when the NWO first appeared. But having seen exerts and read about it, it's first incarnation would've blown DX out of the water. However, it seemed to have gotten watered down and down over several years in WCW and WWE, where most wrestlers in the company were a member of some NWO faction or another.

Degeneration X might have taken a bit longer to make an impact, but they were perfect for wwe at the time, helping to usher in, and define, the Attitude era. Both the original (hbk led) and the expanded (triple h led) versions worked, bringing most of their members up to almost main event level status. I remember watching Xpac face The Rock for the WWF title at Capital Carnage, and the crowd reaction was fantastic.

The NWO I link with the fall of WCW, DX I link with the dominance of WWE.

    are you ready?

dx by a mile! Never really watched WCW, although I have seen the NWO dvd that came free with something a few years ago. I loved the heel DX, well, loved to hate them.

No real connection with the NWO. When they returned with Hogan Nash and Hall, it was done really badly and just kinda faded out.

Hey! Hey! Hey! I dont know what the rock is cookin', smells like sh1t, think il have some anway!

that gag is my all time fav raw moment!

Dx by a mile. NwO runed the WCW, it just turned nitro into WCW vs NwO

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,143 ✭✭✭D-FENS

then when HBK left and they went heel

They were heels all through Shawn's 1st period...

Anyway, DX for me too, NWO and Horsemen might have come before them, but they perfected the craft. Just as much notoriety and they didn’t need a shock heel turn like Hogan's to achieve it. Better chemistry with each other too.

These polls are a bit like the Deadliest Warrior...let's mix the two - DOA or IRA? Anyone? :D
