    Hi,
Have NTL digital value in one room. Use them for broadband too.
Thinking bout getting one of their PVR type boxes for a different room, maybe the Digital+ HD box.
If I go for this, will they take the card out of my current box and put it into the HD one, making the old box useless?

No they won't take the card....you get a new digi box and card for each extra point that you want.

So they'll be clever enough to charge me the extra 8.50 for multiroom from then on?

Yep....each additional point is €8.50 for a standard digi STB.....if you are getting the DVR then it is a further €5 a month for that

A quick question about Multi-Room - do UPC update the cables in the house or just the wall boxes and is it the same price for the main point e.g. the point in the sitting room has all the UPC Digital Channels will the other digital boxes will have the same channels or not?

    Thanks

they might update the cables in the house. depends on the quality of the cable
you can always ask them too.

what ever channels you have on the main point you will have on the other points

    this includes sky sports/movies etc.

if you have sports/movies the PVR is free and multiroom is just €4.50, at the moment anyway.

huh? You sure about this? I was thinking of adding sky sports - are you saying that I'd have it on both outlets with one subscription?

Have UPC Value pack and 10Mb Broadband. Also use blueface over VOIP.
Currently pay 20 per month for TV
    Looking to get multiroom.
So I could go with UPC and pay 68.75 per month for their Digital Select pack & Digital+ HD which includes Sky Sports and multiroom. Looks like a 110 Euro once off connection fee.
Or leave UPC in the one room, and get Sky in. Could get the SKY+HD box and sky sports and 2 channel packs for 68.75. 49 Euro once off charge. And I get the fist month free and 25 Euro credited to my account. Obviously still have the 20 per month UPC charge for the other room too.
So Sky would cost me 20 more per month, but I would get Sports in HD

    Decisions decisions.
