Moving out of our old place this saturday we have this dodgy landlord where he made us sign a contract for 1 contract then 2nd year and then a 6 months contract. and we deposited money into his wifes account ever month.

Now we now thats its dodgy but at the time there was no other places and had no choice.

Now we have broken the lease 3 Months in to the 5 and asked for our deposit I know we dont have a leg to stand on by breaking it and gettin the money back and we have cleaned the place up brand new.

He has said you broke the lease and no depposit back and we have pushed it. been good tenants the best still says no. I asked him for his pps number yesterday and we said we will talk saturday I said it again that we wanted to claim tax back for the 2 years 3 months he said we'll talk.

Any advice you can give would help a lot....:)

You don't need his PPS to claim back your tax relief. All you need is his name and the address you're living at. As far as I know Revenue will then look at his registrations for property but you're safe enough to claim anyway.
