Beginners Question

Hi all. I just have a quick question regards drivers.

My first time picking up a driver was tuesday night. When I got into the swing (:D) of things, I was hitting the ball straight, roughly 220 yrds every time. I am just wondering how this measures up. I heard teenagers can hit over 300yrds? Is 220yrds a poor driving length?

I think if you can just pick up a driver and be hitting it straight, 220 yards its a very good start

Seriously, it is a very good start, especially if you are hitting it straight with any sort of consistency.

Ive started properly playing golf in the last 3 wks, I played a bit of pitch n putt before but not regularly. However I have become golf crazy in these last two weeks, have been in the range 5 times since last monday and have ingulfed myself in videos and books. Cant get enough:)

Litterly in the last two visits to the range, last nite included I hav started to dribble the ball past 200yrds, fairly straight tho. So I wud consider myself very fortunate if I was you.

Altho I have noticed and this is not aimed at you, that if there is ppl who know each other at the range and there in bays beside each other. They hav a tendacy to claim they've smashed the ball 200-250 wen they cleary hav not.

Like has been said b4 on this forum tho, driving distance is like measuring ur dick, fortunately I hav a massive dick so can be honest about my driving ability:D

I was there on my own. I'm teaching myself to play!

And in Conno's absence there are a number of contenders begining to step up to the plate around here recently.

OP: I've been playing 5 years. now off 7 handicap and I only hit it 10 -20 yards further than that. So you're doing well and if you're still in your teens then you can only improve.
