    Hi,

I have friends who got excellent last minute deals for 09 skiing by waiting and booking 3 weeks beforehand (using directski.ie). These were a group of 4 people though and any special offers even at the moment are for larger groups (4+). Does anyone have any experience of any last minute deals for two people (no destination preferred)? I just wondering if I should hold out or book early. Last year my friends in a group of 4 got the same holiday as me for 1/2 the price.

    Thanks
    L

Depends on if you mind where you go I suppose, and ye are not set on where you're going to stay. The higher end resorts will rarely have deals, but other spots will have some good bargains. Esp if you're a couple - I'd say you'll have no problem getting some good value!

2 people is ideal to book for.If you go on any agents websites they'll have a last minute deal section which usually have great deals closer to the departue dates for the holidays.
Crystalski.ie have a last minute section and usually have excllent cheap deals.Only problem is we go in groups so its not as easy to get deals:mad:.For 2 though you should be able to get deals to almost anywhere fairly cheaply.

keep an eye in most travel agents windows too,if you can take holidays at short notice theres usually bargains to be had

    bovril,
Yeah other half and myself have used Direct ski and Crystal to get great last minute deals.

Big problem this year is TO have booked less rooms and flights because of the downturn so it will be harder but not impossible to get great last minute deals.

Just watch the TO websites and the webcams and book Enjoy

    Thanks guys.

@fattes - Good point I'd never have thought of the fact the companies might not have booked the same amount of flights/accom as last year. Having said that I did go onto Austrian Airlines site and check for flights for a particular week in Feb and there were no flights except Business flights left. Austrian Airlines were who the directski flights were with last year to Salzburg. Here's hoping they've overbooked :D

Bovril the Austrian Ailine flights that Direct ski use are charters so they are porbably selling the extra business class seats as a bonus.

Best of luck with the holiday hunting there tends to be great deals if you are willing to fly from Belfast
