Passport Expiry

Can't seem to find an answer through the search so forgive it is here somewhere. My passport expires in February 2010 but my question is can i fly on it up to that date within Europe? And more specifically on Ryanair do they have any restriction on passports time of validity that remains?? Any help greatly appreciated. It let me check in online for my flight Friday morning anyway but not sure about future flights planned for mid September

Within the EU, you can fly wherever you like right up to expiry date.

You were right to double check. I know before they went fully online checkin, they did not allow you to use online checkin if your travel date was within 30 days of your passport expiring. Dont see it on their site anymore so I assume they removed that condition.

Does anyone know about non-eu passports?

My son was born in NZ and his (NZ)passport expires in November, but we are travelling to Spain in early october...

Is there a 6 month rule with the USA? I travel out to NY on the 9th of September and back on the 21st of September and my passport expires on the 15/3/2010. It's right on the 6 months???
Will i be okay or should I try to get a new one?

For US it must be machine readable and also valid at least another 6 months from date of entry (some say after date of exit so best go with that)

Mmm, that doesn't look good for me. I better check in the morning. I am exactly on the 6 months so I may be cutting it a bit too fine.
If i get all the documentation sorted and head into the passport office, will they give me a new passport while i wait or will it take a few days? I fly out next Wednesday.

Validity of my Irish/EU Passport for Travel to the United States

In most cases, to enter the United States, you must have a passport that is valid for at least six months after the date you enter. However, the United States has an agreement with some countries (including Ireland) that allows you to enter on a current passport up to the actual date of expiration. An Irish/EU passport need remain valid only for the duration of the holder's stay in the United States. However, if you are traveling visa-free on the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) and your passport is valid for less than 90 days, you will generally be admitted only until the date the passport expires.
